I'd go for biz5 but I really prefer having 20mbps of max bandwidth. We could probably get them to remove the daily cap but I'm sure the monthly cap will stay. Perhaps our best option is to come up with a local p2p system and pool our resources together.. saving the available data quota for streaming purposes. I've seen it work on those uTorrent webui services here on LYN anyway :3
*
I would do that as well , setup a local p2p system , if local bandwidth is not counted towards cap which means that if somebody downloads something bam the rest of the folks can seed it and download it. Thats all , we can pool data this way just like how they are doing it in Japan and in Korea. Most of us do have a NAS or some sort of home server or 24/7 workstation on which means that its possible in many ways. The good thing about is that we can enjoy high speeds , bad thing is that it may put those uTorrent webUI guys out of business tongue.gif

Nah not quite. They'd just move onto the open vpn business. Need to add anonymity for downloading content from torrent trackers hmm.gif

Ah well, looks like I will give Unifi a pass unless there are better IPTV channels from them.

TM please get all the good channels on your IPTV to compete with bloodsucking ASTRO.

I want Scyfy channel!

If you extrapolate, it would be 3GB daily for VIP10 and 4GB daily for VIP20.

The 250kbps would be the same for every VIP package? hmm.gif

What we can do is to publicly (internet) condemn the 'unreasonable' cap...

if they really goes with the cap, i really would like to know the outcome such as line quality after reaching the cap, is it any slowdowns, throttling occurs.

Yup i was thinking of this too why cant we setup a well establish local P2P system to upload and download popular things like tv series 24, Lost and HK drama. this will reduce the need for importing connection from abroad

Now you know the economics behind copper..
At least with copper you still get to enjoy the same download speeds of upto 24mbps for ADSL2+ and 50mbps for VDSL2.
Almost no installation charges if you opt for self install and best of all equipments are available widely.

FTTC fiber to the cabinet still pawns FTTH anytime.
Thailand does that, Australia does that, kiasu Singapore isn't even moved when TM announced FTTH because they know their Singtel Mio copper ADSL and Starhub Cable blows our FTTH away!

VIP can upgrade to BIZ anytime on anyplace or only restricted to business areas...?

One thing I notice here in this thread, not much rants on the fiber optical connection speed here as compare with ADSL streamyx connection that facing on and off peak hours speed drop problem, most rantings are only specifically on the limited CAP quota which is yet to be implemented; so I assume it is still more stable at its inital launch stage for UNIFI. You do pay for what speed you get monthy right....?

This fella is an agent for UNIFI. He claims after quota for VIP5 capped to 3mb, VIP10 capped to 8mb, VIP20 capped to 18mb. Is he giving the correct fact or misleading all his potential customer?

One thing for sure if all the lines are capped to a mere 5% after quota, it's quite ridiculous. Better to get a 1mb or 4mb line.
