it doesnt matter.

Even wireless N,Z, M its still runs on wireless G.

The purpose i use wireless N is to expand the wireless network coverage so usually maybe it cover half of the house now it cover entire house

anyone here keep having wifi problem? == i think keep happen to me.. connected but server not found on mircob or firefox

Hmmmuh. I don't really use WIFI that much, as my laptop has been set to hog my home broadband with torrenting and downloads. The N900 stays in Packet Data mode most of the time. Plus the fact that the Battery Drain WIFI bug scares the shit out of me, and I reboot every time I get on and off WIFI.

On a side note, it has been 2 days of relative stability here in N900 land. No crashes, no mess ups, no lock ups, no nothing - stock kernel IS stable, I have to give it that. But it IS slow sometimes, especially with heavy multi tasking.

Next stop, Titan's Kernel and overclocking - let see how it would effect my N900.

Not really like that but All new Wifi Standards are usually backward compatible so they will work. Must becareful though as sometimes they dont as the router doesnt have the option but its rare but I have seen it.

Most router are backward compatible. I tested this by putting my router in living room at kitchen 2bars wit wireless G router

I use wireless N i get full bars

Tested using nokia n900

with N you might be able to get wider coverage, however the speed would be capped at G seems n900 is not N-compatible.

btw, just shared n900 with flickr and facebook, hopefully nokia came out with better camera firmware fix for better mobile uploads lol

The problem is sometimes it is not able to obtain DNS, even tough it shows connected and able to obtain IP Address.

http://forums.internettablettalk.com/showp...96&postcount=56

Sometimes, it also depends on the DHCP settings or maybe other settings. One of the WiFi I tried to connect, able to obtain IP, but the IP is the Gateway? Wierd, then later found out need to set manual IP and DNS.

Also, take note of the Wi-Fi icon, if there is a "dot" on top, it means ad-hoc connection.

UPDATE: It seems that Hildon-Desktop doesn't really play nice with QBW. Locked up today due to QBW, icons cannot be tapped (and has never happened before lol). Haish.

Will try tweaking some settings before I move to the next phase.

It can happen due to other app as well, sometimes probably cause by swap/virtual memory, but I don't think hildon-desktop and other core processes should be transfer to swap/virtual memory as it will cause real problem.

If you wait long enough, it might start responding again but the phone might be laggy or have performance issue, best to restart. I've also seen before 2 processes of hildon-desktop and hogging on memory and processing power. Manually killed it in HTOP.
Sometimes, hildon-desktop will reset itself as well, probably due to some widgets.

Surprise surprise, killing Hildon-Desktop HAS NEVER worked for me in solving these lockups. But just did a "killall hildon-home" and everything went back to normal, no lockup. Seem I've been killing the wrong guy.

Will now create a shortcut that does that and sticking it up in QuickLaunch, while reshuffling my menu through an .ini edit.

I still prefer Maemo.Overall Maemo offers better OS experience.
Only thing Android is better than Maemo is the number of available application.
