Uhh guys, currently I'm building my HG 1.5 Gundam. I bought a can of Mr. Hobby Mr. Super Clear Flat. I tried praying it on a disc but it looks grainy to me or it is supposed to be so? Any skills that I should use? Thanks!

Flat top coat does make the surface looks grainy. Tha's how it creates a matte finish.
But dunno how grainy your situation is, it might be also caused by too thick of coating. Show a picture and we can help you more. But generally, never do flat coating during wet weather. Spray approx. 30 cm away from your model. Try moving the spray can around so the liquid won't get accumulated at 1 spot. Most important, don't over do it |

QUOTE(nazrul90 @ Feb 3 2011, 06:40 PM) i need some tips to topcoat.. hope you guys can help Another tip before you are going to use Topcoat:1. what is the best distance from object to spray? 2. how long usually topcoat dry? 3. after i finished topcoat, my kit surface seem a bit like dusty... is that normal? Don't spray when the humidity is high and under cold temperature (e.g. room with air-con), topcoat will screw your gunpla's appearance if you spray under those condition. |

For those of you who have worked with resin kits before, is it necessary to wash the resin parts with dish detergent first before starting to work on them?
