most lauyar yixing pots now cost no less than 150. some buy pots for aesthetics, some buy for functional. for me, functional > aesthetics if u r not "investing".

the prices are mainly on the high side.. didnt really checked out the teapot.. but the cheapest i saw was RM150.. the unique design cost few thousands!.. bought a teapet (laughing buddha).. and also a tray that cost only RM70.. bought also 1kg of black tea.. all of these from a shop by the Fang family (Fang De Jin, Fang Zhi Yun and Fang Zhi Xia).. nice people..

too much choices on tea so didnt try much.. and i reached around 7.30pm.. so don have much time also..

went to the expo today. definitely more exhibitors that one in june and also more puerh oriented. i saw in 1 booth managed by a Chinaman and woman some Dayi tea which i think is fake. and their price is also quite steep compared to bigger tea houses.

I heard tea is good but don't know much about it.

Any tea lovers here that can share their experience? What tea is good? Where is your fav tea shop?

I have learned so much over the 1 year of tea adventuring but there are just so much more to learn and taste. I have posted my learning progress and some post may sound noobish (as I am one) so pardon me  laugh.gif

Feel free to go through the pages and do share your experience too  rclxms.gif

Went to tea expo on the final day. Managed to get some nice Shui Xian and also a very good Dan Cong tea.

managed to snap up both teas at 50% off listed retail price from diff stalls. And the teas to me were really good quality.

so ya... no more tea shopping for me for a while...lol, still got stuff in my cupboard i need to clear first LOL

one thing about this tea expo though, i felt it was like mostly regulars attending it due to the venue and location. not sure if many of the stalls get any first time customers there...

Anyone spotted any good deals on pots there?

The Shui Xian is from Le Ye Xuan. The Dan Cong is from Zhi Bao in Old Klang Road biggrin.gif

The Dan Cong labeled price is RM400, but bought at RM200. The Dan Cong for me was very impressive, extremely fragrant and complex to me, with different characteristics showing off at each brew.

However i haven't had alot of experience with Dan Cong teas, so not sure if i overpaid. My usual poison is Yanchas, so compared to yancha the pricing seemed pretty good to me. smile.gif I would definitely not pay RM400 for 200g of it. but RM200 for 200g seemed fair to me.

If got any feedback regarding the value of it pls let me know biggrin.gif

cheap pots are made with colored clay. the health risk is just not worth it.
