Any tea basically, but more to Pu Er and Liu Bao. I am also an avid pot collector (small small scale of course)
... I see some familiar places from the pix you posted earlier |

Hahaha... Yep, specifically few of them (I mean teashops)
I see you already have few good ones. I started off with tea but eventually diverge towards pots and more often get caught up with it rather than tea nowadays. Cant get nice ones at the rite price anymore though, the market have saturated. Pity, did not hook up with this habit earlier. But well, what’s not meant to be mine will not be mine, appreciate what I have and able to get Unfortunately I did not photograph my teapots up till so far, even tea and other apparatus I have. Will try get them documented to share with everyone once I am less tied up |

Hahaha... Dont be too looking forward for them, Jimmykhoo. They might just be "kecik monyet" stuffs for everybody here
Anyway, feeling akward as i am in transition between older (dont salivate yet, i am not at those qing ming ones yet, barely digging into ROC era) pots to newer "crafted" ones. Kinda confused with my directions lately. I guess it is a balance between using the pot, or collecting it, or just plain investment. Me? I belong to the first category, but of course would be trilled to see a pot i have value up. Just that, confused whether go along with "craftsmen" pots or stick to vintage ones |

Hahaha... True true, but very personal
Storage and handling plays a vital role to ensure appreciation. Although Malaysia climate is generally good, aging and development still vary from spot to spot and how it is specifically kept (i reckon i am not keeping mine rite |

QUOTE(auhckw @ Sep 11 2011, 10:23 AM) Wow... all are nice teapots... i like picture 2, middle pot the most That's a very delicate one, very thin wall. But its clay is great, love using it. The first pix, pot on the right is also one of my favorite. Mini yet functionable, and its clay is superbAdded on September 11, 2011, 10:25 am Can be liupao, ripe pu, aged raw pu, aged liu an Ermm... Raw Pu Erh seldom exhibit earthy flavor, at least to have i have had until now. But yar, maybe Liu Ann or some ripe Pu Erh |

Added on September 11, 2011, 8:07 pm QUOTE(auhckw @ Sep 11 2011, 07:57 PM) Wow... Those antique ones are out of my league so far. Only manage to flashback to the 70-80's, do not have such aroma. Only can use imagination to feel it, hahaha...This post has been edited by KittyKat: Sep 11 2011, 08:08 PM |

QUOTE(unig @ Sep 12 2011, 09:58 AM) Very personal. But if Boh, i rather Bharat. Anyway, these are red tea which i treat more as gourmet tea and not for "Gong Fu" or sip sip enjoyment type of tea. Of course there are those which is otherwise, i have had them before but still cant get use to it. Maybe that's me, maybe it applies to most SEA people as well |

QUOTE(blueye @ Sep 13 2011, 07:14 PM) i would say antic shop and if you lucky (keep looking some tea shop may have it). Oh, i mean your new pot, it should do justice to ripe Pu Erh. Btw whats the price tag of your lovely "mangkuk" if you dont mind to disclose? Count me in your hunt yar, if you found one two more, thanks so much in advance as explained by auhckw Yes, the shop owner said it was around 1930-40 meant for collecting rubber tap thingy. Maybe the boss still have some more of it? well, I don't mind let you test with the cup KittyKat, I LOVE the way you put it. I have tested on the 70liubao it was great. Ripe pu er no problem there as mentioned by auhckw. I guess must be the price, cause when I drink plain water from that cup also taste sweet I will probably hunt for few more for old time sake Added on September 14, 2011, 12:25 amMyself is hunting for some good genuine Jian ware at the moment, still short of luck so far This post has been edited by KittyKat: Sep 14 2011, 12:25 AM |

Came to the end of my holidays up north. Phew... Outdone myself this time with 13 pots. Not much luck with tea though but my friend packed me generous amount of her boss old personal collection Liu Bao. Brewed with one of a more casual teapot i bought from her, its sooo good for "si sui"

Some are casual and some are less functional, more decorative for its size. They all need a good bath first though

Hey Jimmykhoo. Since it is green tea, probably too much leaves or too hot water or too long infusion or all mentioned. Try rule out one by one and you might get to enjoy the most out of it
Btw everyone, i scored some nice old shu pu erh through the w/end but have yet to try them. Will update the team ASAP with pix and details. Until then, good night |
