The tea shop in the photo is Tea-Li Serdang.

Tacha is closed and will reopened by early April. They are at China hunting for this year new tea

thank you. u just help me blew a few hundred bucks on XG 70th Anniversary tea.

i was initially underwhelmed when they told me they were out of 7542 201 which they claimed to have in their website.

the young man was quite nice and chatty.

Huh, JDX cut throat one ah? I haven't been there yet, was hoping to go soon... recently visited Ta Cha and Long Run...

Hoping to visit Jing Dian and some other shops in Petaling Street area one day to hunt for more Cliff Tea.

Ta Cha and Long Run mostly Puer tea... but Tacha seems to be selling mostly premium stuff. pots are VERY nice though. Long Run seems to be more affordable, and looks like got a good amount of aged puer

but i also found some pots in Long Run that seemed really nice, any sifu can comment about the pot/price quality at Long Run?

Also found alot of nice pots in Tacha... but duno which side more worth it... especially since the ones i'm looking at are not artist pots. hope someone can advise!  rclxub.gif

i wont say cut throat la. even though i bargained and the lady gave me discount, it is still more expensive than the retail price of tea-li. one thing very good with jdx is u get a whole range of selection for dayi. including IMHO not sought after dayi 7542 106! bought 2 dayi 7542 201 150g hard cover edition though which cannot be found in tea-li. loving it.

quikstep, the price they put yen wor, which would be about RM6.30...hehehe... if the yen is not a typo, then maybe it's a good deal? lol
*
It's Yuan sir (Renminbi). Not Japanese Yen. at RM6.30, the whole puer market will collapse because this is a major producer.

Bought some Dayi in 2012 and early 2013... And yes, the price go up like crazy... Anyway, I think the tea I bought is only for my son in future years la...

Luckily my brother has lots of raw puerh which he bought many years back when he was working in Beijing... Got more than enough supply liao...

Later I want to take pics of all the Puerh that me and my brother have...

More than 2,000 pcs... Haha!

Btw, my brother have a few pcs of Dayi 7542 (RAW) from 1973 (41yrs). He gave me 1 pcs... but I reluctant to drink la... Coz, I have only 1 pcs...

Wondering what's the price like in market now?
*
my stash of 60 pieces cost me 3K already. your 2,000 pieces can probably buy a small apartment now!

i think your 7542 is not very correct. afaik 7542 is made in 1975 and should only be max 38 yrs old. post pic here pls.

btw, 1988 7542 is selling for RM 288.00..... per 10 grammes! So 1 cake is 10.2K smile.gif

Dayi commemorative Snake beeng it's now RMB 588. I thought the starting price RMB 388 was crazy. Now I feel like slapping myself for not taking at least 1 beeng.

OOhh... I'm not well informed on Dayi's history... my bad...

Here's the very old 38yrs Dayi... You all think its genuine? Anything to look for to prove its authenticity?

Later after I finish the project with my brother, will post the puerh and tea pot collection here...

You'll be amazed!
*
to me, it does look consistent with early 1990s Dayi. perhaps u can look at the leaves. it should be dark and orange hues.

on some forums, ppl will tend to say that after 20 yrs, you probably should not "air" it anymore or it will loose its taste. the reason is after 20 yrs, the improvements to taste will be very slow, if any. the test is in the taste. it's time to enjoy your patience smile.gif

maybe this link helps http://www.generationtea.com/store/default.php?cPath=4

quikstep, would you mind sharing, how much does a decent raw puer cost roughly?

I'm still new to puer tea and at our last session,  had some... erm... not so great experience with raw puerh. lol, so hope to find sth to set the bar and not make me give up on it. hehe...

We're planning to meet at Tea Li for our next session. I think the point of the whole trip is to set our wallets on fire...lol. there's a Dao Hong Pao there that i rather fancy, so plan to sapu a bit more of it! smile.gif
*
actually unless you are speculating, the cost should not really have to be very high. i've bought a couple of cakes from taobao even just to try out few "flavors" like bingdao, da xue shan and lao ban zhang. they are all sub rm 100. i tend to buy 1 piece and benchmark them according to the "real thing" from renown factories. if nice, then only 1 shot 1 toong. shipping costs is approximately extra rm 8-10 per beeng.

tea speculation really too intense and hopefully the prices will peak this year and crash next year (sorry speculators).

just came back from tea-li. there were plenty of new stuffs there today as they moved goods from one of their many store houses due to renovation. the boss peter wasn't here yet and his sons usually does not give good discount like their dad smile.gif

check out the 1999 tulin tuo. quite worth the price really.

when u guys are at tea-li, checkout the xiaguan 2010 baoyan tie beeng 125g. retailing for rm50 4pcs. worth it.

it's a shame for me that weekends are normally off limit due to family commitment.

anyone of you interested in CNNP 2010 Bulang Shan 200g cake?

http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a220m...b1b26306be4b537

I'm thinking to share out the cost if I can get someone else to buy 5 toong because I only need 1 toong.

approximate price is RM 418 (RM 1 = RMB 1.83)
approximate shipping charges is RM 145 (RM 12/kg * 10 + RM 25 sensitive good charges)

so all in all, it's about RM 94/toong for 1.4kg of tea!!!

can't even get 1 decent Dayi 2010 357g beeng at RM 94 now.

PM me if interested.

Else, it's RMB 220/toong here http://list.tmall.com/search_shopitem.htm?...1_&stype=search and works out to be about RM 170 all-in.

if you like strong flavors of bulang shan, this is an inexpensive bet. i'd prefer xiaguan 2010 bulang materials but can't get it anywhere i know. it's still astringent but the sweetness is faintly detectable already.
