Quikstep, how does washing the tea leaves long got to do with it? I thought tea leaves contain a lot less caffein than coffee. I can take coffee even in the evening but not all chinese tea..
Anyway any recmmended raw pu erh? I thought of trying it out. Cheers |

Post-fermentation by ageing breaks down the caffeine which naturally diminishes the older a tea gets. Generally, Green Pu-Erh contains more caffeine than Black Pu-Erh as the Black varieties are subjected to additional processing which diminishes the caffeine which is water soluble. Source:http://www.thechineseteashop.com/puerhtea.html(Note: We use the term “Chinese Black Tea” as it is commonly used in the West to describe what are actually known in China as Red Teas. The true Chinese Black Teas as they are known in China are the post-fermented, aged teas such as Pu-Erh Tea). But there is a way to reduce the caffeine level of any tea if you are sensitive to it. Any tea is gong fu chabest made using the traditional Chinese method of tea-making known as Gong Fu Cha (Tea With Great Skill). This highly controlled method of tea-making is characterized by using small teapots and multiple brews with very short steeping times of just a few seconds. This intensifies the flavour of any tea and reduces the caffeine consumed compared to Western methods of tea-making. In Gong Fu Cha, the first brew is for washing the leaves and is poured away, so it is not consumed. This also has the effect of washing away much of the caffeine which is highly soluble in water. When I first read it, it's not from this source but it's very much along this line. It's very difficult to tell you what you like. Generally I do recommend 2 teas to my friends that are trying out tea; the Bing Dao and Ma Hei region. Both IMHO are "softer" and have good mouth feel. |

QUOTE(quikstep @ Oct 27 2013, 05:22 PM) codyt84 i can't help but to associate your nick to Cody from Lau Char / Lau Chan in Kepong. They are the official distributor of XG in KL at least. Have you find them? As long as it's nice tea, ppl will horde bcos they are quite some speculators/investors here. Ouch..my identity has been exposed. Anyhow hoping to meet some tea fans during the upcoming tea fair in Viva Mall. Just a slight exposed to all out here. I'm gonna attached one of the 2 offers that we are gonna do during the fair alternatively if u r brave enough to order online AND in KL/Selangor, we can share shipping http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=27371988282. This vendor for me is reliable and I order from a forumer called cloud8313 in services board. |

This one here is made by same craftswoman as the three legged one earlier posted, indeed she is very talented...sipping some 2007 Dayi Silver Color while trying to stay up for midnight match. Almost tripled in just a matter of one year, thanks to recognition, sigh... *** Oops...
