How much left? you mean the cropping or the savings up? Cropping left maybe 25% or less. Saving up maybe if go for Tamron 70200F2.8, hopefully sometime this year. If going for the 70200G... then kena tunggu lama lagi la... maybe next year .. donno... sad.gif

well it can, depending what u shoot, if u shoot a group photo of 50 people, the face already small small size , dim room  cry.gif , and ur flash cant reach everyone.... high iso might destroy what's left of their face tongue.gif

there is noise, if u pixel peep, there is A LOT. but, when we see the picture as whole, the noise is hardly noticeable. (btw, the last pic, look at top area of the floor, the noise is masssssive!)
*
The point of a pic is to tell a story or to show what is going on. If you have a story in your pic, then the noise won't matter all that much. The story is told and that's what matters most.

Say you are shooting a wedding and here's the bride and her mom embracing impromptu with tears flowing down their cheeks and you got the shot. For people looking at this shot, would they say, "Wow! Look at the noise!!" ?

Would it have been better if the high ISO is cleaner? Of course, but when push comes to shove, it's getting the shot that matters.

Even if you had the D3s with you but you missed the moment by a fraction of a second and another guy with a PnS got it. Who will have the better pic?

jamesies : I own the same lens as you. The KM 28-75 f/2.8, at f/3.5 would be quite sharp for a single person portrait photo, you don't have to go up to f/8.0. IDC = Sony Image Data Converter which comes in package when you bought your A300 or download it from the web.

Banzai_san : Is the ceiling high? If it is, don't bother to do make a ceiling bounce. Just use a bounce card will do; and if you're beside a wall (if the wall is not dark in color), do a light bounce on the wall instead.

neo_lam: Interface, really, and previous complaints that Adobe was always doing lousy conversions of Sony RAWs.

You can always try the 30 day trial version:
http://www.dxo.com/us/photo

ieR: Were you using strong fill light for the girl on stage? Since obviously the light on her legs seems to be much brighter than the rest of her and you pulled it up, exaggerating noise.

Any old-timer camera shop should have 120 format film.

jamesies: IDC = Sony Image Data Converter. Their latest version cleans up noise in RAW really well. The version included in the CD that comes in your Sony Alpha box is an older version.

Banzai_san: Nice #1 and #4 (his band is called Estranged by the way.) Single crops are very obvious - maybe it should've been a full group picture.

And yes, cropping is what made it obvious.

If you're on a budget, the Minolta 135mm F2.8 will be just long enough for stage. It would be in the RM1xxx range.

hahaha, i mentioned "most important in photography, is just a simple image that tells the message. let it be 20x20px, if it tells a message, its a good pic." several post back tongue.gif

well, i do shoot weddings and my flash is always with me, and, so, i hardly ever goes over iso400 so cases u mention its a rare happening smile.gif, unless i have a really high ceiling i'd use iso800 (to help cut down 1/2 power rather then fire full power all time, reduce stress on flash)

some people knows i do not shoot event/stage/fashionshow. due to i do not have appropriate lens, and event in my town suck big time (and lack of lighting), the iso1600 event was only 3 days ago, when i was trying to test my new kitlens tongue.gif

my best fashion show experience is 3 years ago when i shoot, the AF is sooo quick!, and i only require iso100 i still get 1/200 speed (night time, outdoor fashion), imagine the amount of spotlight they install for the show? (40+ unit of spot lights!) maybe later i post 1 or 2 pic wink.gif (ever since then, i am very picky with stage/event shooting)

albnok: i think it was the stage's tungsten spot light* the stage is lit better(still too low that i need iso3200) then the 'sitting' area, look at the 1/10 photo, those are at the same venue, on the sittings area smile.gif

porkchop: Nice! I was expecting the newer Sigma 28mm F1.8 EX DG Macro, though. Am surprised at the filter size of 58mm, as the newer one has a filter size of 77mm, probably to allow close focus!

The Minolta 20mm F2.8 has a MFD of 25cm though.

ieR: Tilt!
