Whoa, what happened to V38? I get:

hazril, congratulations!

alex_cyw1985: I like the slipper shot! #2 without tilt better. Love #3. Ouch cactus! Use DRO to help keep the highlights detailed. Love the flower shot too.

zstan: I like #1. #2 works. The white balance is a bit warm though; if you used flash then you'd need to put an orange filter on it and set the WB to tungsten. Good job on the last shot, you got everyone looking (except the poor cropped lady on the right!)

Kul | Mo0: Happy Birthday dude!

hazril: Sony Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 16-35mm F2.8 SSM? But my Zeiss certificate doesn't look like that; it's more of a square.

Irishcoffee: The Minolta 70-210mm F4 beercan focuses slower on older bodies (A100, A200/A300/A350). However if you use it with Eye-Start AF it can be faster.

signither: That was for his last birth year.

amadeo: Can you update the street price list?

Sony A550 body only = RM21xx

Will see what else I can ask around about.

Oh and check out yet another Alpha ad!

Zicron: I'm coming for the TT! 10:30am is crazy early though.

d4rkholeang3l: Why not at F1.8, then turn the glasses so it is slightly facing you (so more of it is in focus?)

d4rkholeang3l: That's why I suggested to turn the glasses to face you so more of it is in focus, even at F1.8. smile.gif

amadeo: Can update? Each one gets a cut around RM200 or so.

Sony A230 + 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DT SAM = RM14xx
Sony A330 + 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DT SAM = RM18xx
Sony A380 + 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DT SAM = RM20xx
Sony A500 + 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DT SAM + 55-200mm F4-5.6 DT SAM = RM31xx
Sony A550 + 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DT SAM = RM24xx

ieR: Congratulations on your F20!

Zicron: Yes, but with a less out of focus background (so you can really see the effect.)

Kul | Mo0: It is a legit Minolta STF simulation. I'll show you tomorrow if you're coming?

sidewinderz: Long time no see!

gizmo_pony: Might be hot spots (happens with long exposures if Long Exp. NR is turned off.)

ieR: I guess you have a better copy.

shukrie: Ah, finally, hot lamps bring out the best traits of IR!

kmarc: Congratulations! Use your left hand to secure the lens to the glass, so there is less reflection from inside the plane.

IwanAGP: We pretty much made half a circle and blocked people while shooting promoter girls. It would've been quite obvious!

wingster: Your black A550 very handsome! One Avira girl seems to like you; the other doesn't LOL.

porkchop: Eh, you should use 18mm F3.5 and a slightly slower shutter speed e.g. 1/40s with flash - that should get rid of the shadow. ISO1600 is right.

Of course, if your flash is ungelled, and the lights are orange, you'll need an orange gel.

Kul | Mo0: Ouch! Where do we see high standard ones? Outside, the runways are full of the same set of Andrew's Models. sad.gif

IwanAGP: Sounds like the legendary APS-C CMOS bridge camera, the Sony Cybershot DSC-R1.

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonydscr1/

porkchop: Depends on the light - if the light is already brighter on the subject, then no need; if the background is brighter, then the flash will fill in nicely.

lencent: Nice!

signither: Wah the road is not even!

eddybeh: I like #1. Shutter speed is too slow for #4 (use F3.5 or ISO800 or both!) Good catch on the elusive tattoo! Guess I'd prefer the tilt of Gatsby #2.

neo_lam: Looks like a flash gel will balance your WB nicely. wink.gif Don't forget to label them with numbers! wink.gif

zstan: Good catch! Can go slower shutter speed (1/30s) and ISO800 for better ambient exposure.

Banzai_san: Looks like the stage light was brighter than your flash - in which case you're better off not using flash.

wingster: Whoa what happened with #2? Her elbow and the girl behind's aligns! Nice #4, would be better if the circle was right behind her back. Well cleaned #6.

ieR: Congratulations on your Zenza Bronica with Nikkor-P 75mm F2.8?

sidewinderz: Getting a "This photo is currently unavailable." sad.gif

skyancient: The A900 was launched in October 2008.

readone_sapi: WOW!

Kul | Mo0: Relative, I guess - somehow I am still more accustomed to Chinese facial features.

likito: Nice how you got all of them looking and smiling. They must like you!

d4rkholeang3l: Nice #2 #4 and #5! Thanks for not putting all 600. biggrin.gif

cjlai: Eh we missed you ah? Looks like you were there just a bit before we were!

porkchop: Sweet! I haven't seen the Sigma 28mm F1.8 in real life.

shootkk: Hmmm you have a very orange tone in the first set, which disappears in the second set.

shukrie: Wah your edit is more blue than Olympus blue!

cjlai: Ah, missed wha7ever also! I did see iGeorge and kkzone on the other side of the fence though.

goldfries: Do check out the A550, the current darling of the consumer market. Its MF Check LV mode uses the main sensor for Live View which makes using manual focus lenses a breeze. The A230 was so May 2009!

If you will, the A230 is more towards the Canon 1000D end, while the A550 is more towards the Canon 550D end.

Gouki: Northpoint Midvalley is where the actual repair happens.

Braynumb: In your signature, the Sigma 50mm F1.4 has HSM; the 12-24mm for A-mount does not.

porkchop: The STF is more able to smoothen complex backgrounds. We could've tried it at Sony Style KLCC! The primary difference is how every point of light is rendered. The following example doesn't show a complex background, but it gives you an idea of how it works.

Top-right: Sony Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 135mm F1.8 ZA through a Kenko 2x MC4 teleconverter at 280mm F3.5 1/125s ISO800 (minor swirliness at the bottom, not always obvious)

-milo-: Ah, updated!

goldfries: You have a valid point too; there are many ways to get to the right exposure!

The Sony 50mm F1.8 DT SAM is notably good at F1.8 though.

e-jump: If you feel it's grainy (probably due to underexposure from the shiny belt, if you've pulled up the shadows from RAW) you may want to increase flash power or use a brighter aperture.

-milo-: Nice #1! You could use a brighter aperture for most of your shots (try to get to F3.5) so the ambient light is brighter.

noprob: Nice (though, a bit of underexposure, and then bringing up the shadows, would help with the nearly blown-out whites.)

hazril: Wah #1 straight to the point! And yes like ieR said, wait for a defining background. Can't see the begging though.

signither: I'd prefer #2. It's a more common cinematic tone.

mcline_007: Long time no see! I like #3. If you can, direct him to pose in #2 but with his eyes looking at you.

#1 - More shots from the Pikom PC Fair down at KLCC Convention Center a certain 17th of April 2010!

user posted image
#2 - I am not sure when it started but promoter girls started to be a mainstay of PC Fairs.

user posted image
#3 - I sure don't remember them around in the PWTC days!

user posted image
#4 - You'll see familiar faces in the circuit.

user posted image
#5 - The girls in the first hall in particular are dolled up.

user posted image
#6 - You could say the same for the booths too! The booths are far more spacious and seem to have some proper interior design instead of a square box, a table and a few chairs.

#7 - Interestingly, the up-and-coming products pay to be in the first hall. She promotes Kingsoft Office here.

user posted image
#8 - Tzia way outside!

user posted image
#9 - Tattooed HTC girl way inside!

user posted image
#10 - Down at the busier halls it felt like a good old PC Fair - sandwiched crowds and price lists written with marker pens.

user posted image
#11 - Of course there was always that atrium of air...

user posted image
#12 - ...and you get to see a fresh, regular girl-next-door.

EXIF included for all shots!

hazril: Ah! So he was rejected lah. It can almost be a series. I have an idea which needs some photo merging and a tripod but it can be done.

Maybe I should've posted more of the 'naturals' downstairs!

mcline_007: Yeah I like her natural innocent smile!

ieR: I picked the exposure that brought out the skintone I wanted. But yes, I could apply a light dodge to them (I have, actually... but without comparing to the rest of the series.) Also, some of them get more mixed colors, which helps (cyanish tint from the lights, or daylight coming in.)

5564321: Show us a picture with EXIF?

neo_lam: Eh, most of them are with the Minolta 50mm F1.4 at F2.0 lah. biggrin.gif

signither: If you're up for it, make the trashcan colored like #2 and the background colored like #1.

shukrie: I honestly like out-of-camera IR color. It's something I've fallen in love with that I can't bear to recolor it!

signither: Nice clean merge!

likito: The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 Macro has a minimum focus distance of 20cm.

neo_lam: No I didn't say the 135ZA will produce better results - it won't give the same angle, or the same feeling that you are right in front of them.

ieR: Don't forget the original Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 Macro which focuses to 20cm close! The newer 17-70mm F2.8-4.0 doesn't go so near.

MechaHerc: Purple fringing, only with very high contrast.
