I find it interesting that mine are mostly 0.03V apart, like 3.22V/3.25V, 3.24V/3.27V. as these are shrink-wrap in 2 per pack, I really didn't expect to have such a different Voltage. My 12-Pack SureFire battery all giving 3.28V consistently, likewise for Sanyo and Panasonic... hmm.gif as these are put into 2-cell lights, the one near the head will consistently get draw more and leaving the Voltage gap bigger sweat.gif

If everyone is willing to contribute to pool a fund of RM150 a year I can construct a full fledged Invision power board (similar to LYN) with a *.com/*.net/*.org address. Unlike the free MYCPF forums, we can get the search function up etc.

I can do so, too since I already have a hosting account set up, and lots of spare bandwidth / disk space.. wink.gif

I see that the install of IPB at this site is a trial license, -- which either means they're using a very old, unrestricted copy of IPB (2.x), or, well, an alternative.
A full license costs $150 -- which would last forever (except no upgrades after 6 months.. not a problem, though wink.gif )
If someone wants to fund for a license, I can either

1. host it free on a subdomain (i.e. forum.lumensreview.com, lumensreview.com/forum, etc, etc) , or,
2. purchase a new domain for 10$ a year. With a new domain, though, you'd need to pay for tsite hosting, which is ~7/month.  rclxub.gif

or, of course, I could also find a trial license, and install that one, and host you guys for free biggrin.gif
I think there are a few security vulnerabilities with that option... but this forum hasn't had a problem.

Wow, thanks for the offer, you are great. rclxms.gif

Let see now, Mr Presidente, maybe we need to host a meeting on this.

I support if it is needed. I more input, the phpbb2 or 3 now, has most of the bbs/forum function, including the search, and its free. And it is open for many plugins. Where is the MYCPF currently hosted??

oh, oh yeah! I forgot, there is also..

http://php.opensourcecms.com/scripts/show....id=5&cat=Forums

those ^ tongue.gif all open source and free.

phpBB, myBB, SMF are the popular ones. + I have experience with phpBB and SMF.

so, ok - one more options.. free install of a open source forum on my site, which will cost none.

Great input Craig and thanks for the offer! I have been long out of the loop in building new CMS websites.
My days of playing with CMS's were around 2004-2008 and back then in 1999 it was plain jane HTML and CSS for me.

If we go with IPB we would much rather get a trial/old version which I think I still have kept somewhere (or my friend has it). I don't think it's financially feasible for us to buy a new license.
Other open source forums are a good suggestion as well.

Interesting interesting. Never use then though, I'm more of a rechargeable guy. Actually, fully rechargeable since they give POWER! Waha!

Maybe its to put the higher voltage one near the head leaving no or very little gap? Lol. I dunno. xD

Good idea. Sorry can't help you here. Dun wan ppl asking me why got holes in the batt's shrink wrap xD

I'm not in it so much for guilt free lumens but the power factor. Lithiums can't push the voltage of LiCo or the current of LiMn. POWER is just too much fun too give away, at the expense of the light's life. (already killed a LD10 and MODUS xD)

Or I should say make the LD10 and MODUS what it should have been in the beginning, xD!!

In situations where you're gonna be out of the power grid for long, rechargeables are not feasible. You should avoid depleting a Li-ion and then leaving it alone without recharging for a few days or more. Doing so will shorten the life and capacity of a Li-ion cell. So taking a bunch of rechargeables for a long camping trip is a no-no except to use sparingly.

But I agree rechargeables are just too fun. LiCo and LiMn hold their voltage better than primaries and that is why you'll get higher current draw and more lumens driving the same incan bulb with 2X Li-ion's rather than 3X Lithium primaries.

Metalzone, comparing the layout and features I've seen for CPF Main, MYCPF, Invision/Zeta and LYN. LYN's IPB still the type I want. Can we settle on a Trial, and have it hosted on brightside.lumensreview.com? With craig's permission. Or register a domain thebrightside.com and host the site at lumensreview?

I have experience with phpBB years back. It took me some time to get used to the Admin CP rclxub.gif However, invisionfree CP is alot simpler, I got it immediately biggrin.gif Anyways, MyBB seems to be okay, and I like that it can multiquote biggrin.gif blush.gif
