and so i got these twins over the festive period. i had the thrunite t01 as my keychain light, but the tiki le has most definitely bested that workhorse simply because (i) higher max lumens; (ii) practical lumens levels (direct access to moonlight); and (iii) the auxiliary flash comes in really handy during breakdown emergencies (i have it on my with my car keys). whilst i can understand the thought that went into user interface, it still sucks. double press for constant on? like seriously?  mad.gif the button is stiff enough as it is so i very much doubt it would be accidentally activated easily. but that's my only gripe really. overall a nice keychain light with practical auxiliary light (can't wait to try out the uv light on my next hotel stay  cool2.gif )

i seen enough reviews...and reading the specs also...
its like the red has only 3L..probably not enough to warn incoming cars with their 1000L headlamps tongue.gif

as for the UV lamp...it too is quite weak and mostly for close stuff like checking money...
would need a real proper UV torch that u can shine all over the room tongue.gif

correct on both points.

the flash however alternates between the red and blue and it does its job of warning oncoming traffic. it's size can be deceptive to the uninitiated but me thinks some warning beacon is better than none. and imo drivers of oncoming cars with 1000l headlamps that still do not notice stationary vehicles don't deserve to be on the road anyway.

yeah, the uv lamp is piss weak. it does its job well in total darkness, but struggles in daylight (even when checking money) so yeah, you'd probably be better off with a dedicated uv torch (i guess the olight i3uv eos would do the job? hmm.gif )

end of day, some may call the aux functions gimmicky, but i do find them pretty nifty icon_rolleyes.gif

i'll test out the red/blue blinking later at night in the basement car park tongue.gif
and ya, the uv lamp even in a normal room struggles to light up anything even from 10cm away...

i used to leave one of these in my car - https://www.lifegear.com/glow-r-flashlight-red
the flashing red mode is rated up to 400hrs...and u can head stand it...
the main halogen bulb is quite the suck tho...anyway it somehow eventually died...
cheap anyway...around rm30+.

just make sure you activate the red/blue flashing light instead of the uv model. things done in the basements should be left in the basement whistling.gif

if you're a cycling enthusiasts, you could keep your rear blinkers in the glove compartment. no idea how many lumens but they do appear pretty darn bright!

k here's my take on the TINI vs TIKI.

TINI.
likes -
- better mode spacing - 1 - 38 - 145 - 380, so usually 145L is what I would use more often when outside.
- has a battery indicator.
- dual buttons, so you can have primary mode say at 38L and toggle back and forth with the 380L turbo by pressing the 2nd button... without having to cycle thru all the modes.

dislikes -
- no direct access to low.
- heats up quite fast at turbo 380L.
- no constant ON at 380L.

so basically for the TIKI, it is quite the reversed.
likes -
- direct access to low.
- cannot feel the heat at 300L due to the plastic body.
- constant on at 300L, but will throttle down after 1min.

dislikes -
- don't like the mode spacing of 1 - 15 - 60 - 300...i tend to find the 60L abit lacking so usually go to 300L which is a bit too much sometimes.
- no battery indicator.
- rubber button, would much prefer the plastic buttons as on the TINI.

the red/blue indicator meanwhile is decent from 5m away... anything further than 10-15m it looks like someone left their remote controlled toy lying around...

anyway, main reason I got the TIKI is to replace my olight i3e on my car keychain...making the whole package lighter by 10gms...which doesn't sound like alot but its noticeable especially going from 65gm to 55gm.
the TINI meanwhile would still be my primary keychain light on my house keys...

Just to add about TINI's Dislike. Buttons are easily activated while in pocket / pouch / bag compartment. Same like the TUP. sad.gif
Yes, yes, I know there's lock-out (and Demo) mode but perhaps Nitecore could have made the buttons less prone to accidental activation.

For TINI's Dislike, +1 for the no battery indicator.
Nitecore could have done a a simple flashing 3 dots indicator like the TIP2 and TIP2017.

i think u confused urself with the TIKI there tongue.gif

but ya, that's another one...accidental activation of the TINI...it sometimes happens in my pocket too...tho not too often.
there's actually no lock-out mode on TINI...just the demo mode.

hmm, here's another thing about the TINI that in hindsight makes no sense...
the head is actually chrome coated plastic while body is aluminium...
the TIKI meanwhile is reversed... a metal alloy head with plastic body...

so for my TINI... its been abused by my keys until the chrome coating has worn off... so now i get alot of light bleed from the side of the head...

And some sellers either take along time to process the warranty claims or makes it tedious to get a replacement. doh.gif

Indeed it is.
I use it as my bedside light as the UI ramping from moonlight to turbo is quite useful.
No need to click a few times to get the desired brightness

Pay premium for the titanium body.
Plus the maximum brightness of 350 lumens is kinda low for 18650 flashlight, no?
