That is correct, all Canon EOS has built in motor. Unlike us Nikon users have to get the higher end ones.

hur? Then I was confused, I thought entry lvl Canon doesn't have AF motor. Then AFAIK all Sony have AF motor, don't tell me don't have ar? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

hi there, i'm using a Nikon D40 now, bought it earlier this year for Photography Studies. i think i need an upgrade liao. is there any new zooming lens suitable for my D40? like the lens for the D80 & Canon 300D? Need professional advice here sweat.gif

coz i think my dslr zooming not very powerful liao D:, unlike my digital camera tongue.gif

All Canon models have AF motor, I'm not sure about Sony's.

Any1 know where 2 get a good screen protector for my D40X?
I've been looking ard 4 ages but cant find a good 1.
Trying 2 find a glass type like d Giottos 1 or d standard Nikon clip-on type tat low end Nikons dun hav.

Search for GGS screen protector, I use it on my D90. Works very well, and you probably won't notice there's a protector there.

how powerfull u want?? and how much ur budget??
digital camera can zoom how much hmm.gif
i tot those digital camera zoom are useless?? coz usually after zoom the quality turn down...

When Canon implemented AF they decided to go straight to the focus motor in the lens which is called EOS (Electro Optical System). Canon EOS models do not have an AF motor in the body but have contacts to the AF motors in the lens much like Nikon AF-S.

hehe, don't look down on Digital camera especially compact nowadays, very hightech liao, unlike those days 3.2mp, zoom really sucks.
Try Lumix TZ-7, TZ-10 for now perhaps, hehe, I got shocked at the sharpness of it. brows.gif

swt, Canon has AF motor on ALL their LENSES la sweat.gif
they uses a standard system, focusing mechanism on lenses
so ALL Canon bodies dun have AF motor in body, even the high end 1D/1Ds

Yaya, that's what I mean. Coz I heard from my cousin as well, he said his Canon 1000D body got no AF motor. hmm.gif

no matter how an external flash is way better than pop-up flash

btw earleir i dam heartache....i tried the tripod and end up scratching the base of my d5000....now got 1 circle of deep scratch @.@

well sorry i'm still a bit noob in using the D40, just a basic dslr camera for a beginner student like myself sweat.gif . forgot to tell u tat my zooming lens is 18-55mm, 1:35. 5-5.6GDII. i know it aint good enough, coz i know i need more than tat T^T. and hey digital camera's aint useless D: lol i use digicam for camwhoring ;p.

worth but the i-ttl is quite underexpose when using direct flash...need to manually tune the flash...
