Upgrading to D90 not all about the focus motor la, it offer more value in terms of ISO performance, commander mode to trigger wireless flash, bigger body for better gripping, better control (more shortcut button and top screen), and the lists go on.

but d90 is so much heavier and bulkier...haha

Any pro D3000 user here? Need recommendation on wide angle lens. Budget RM1K.

Guess I can only go for average lens.

cheapest wide angle is sigma 10-20mm i think which can autofocus with d3000...i think that also cost u 2k d...
nikon 10-24mm is sharper than sigma alot but that cost 3k d...zzz

What are the 2 common lens most photographer have? Wide and Telephoto lenses?  unsure.gif
i think most ppl carry a fast prime lens and kit lens...or prime and 18-200mm

ya 18-200 is consider as wide to telephoto...
but d3000 is APS-C sensor...so u need to consider 1.5x crop factor...
ur actual focal would be 18*1.5 = 27mm....haha...not really wide but still acceptable la...

i would consider sigma 18-250mm OS...it got quite good review and selling 2.2k if nt mistaken...

Added on April 15, 2010, 4:20 pmbut most of the time i wont use 250mm i think...prefer to shoot wide all the time...

Hey fellow Nikon fans...  I bought a D5000 in Nov/Dec 2009 and now feel like upgrading to D90 now for the built-in motor. So if anyone's interested in my D5000, pls drop me a PM. I'm from Penang, can arrange to view in Penang. It comes with 2 batteries, 17-55mm kit lens, Nikkor 35mm f1.8 prime lens and a bag... thks.

rgds,
ronn

i am wondering which produce better bokeh?
nikon 35mm f1.8
tamron 17-50mm f2.8

assuming tamron is at 35mm f2.8, hw much is the bokeh difference?
btw, bokeh become more obvious at longer focal length right?

which would be a better lens to buy to replace 18-55 kit lens non vr?
sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 OS HSM
tamron 17-50 f2.8 VC

sigma is cheaper by 200-300 like that...btw, so hard to find tamron 2nd hand 1...haih
i prefer bokeh shots...can the sigma do nice bokeh?
