Ahh, don't get mixed up with CPL and UV filter. They are both different types. CPL will reduce light by about 1 stop as well, so if you're gonna use that indoor you're gonna loose a lot of light.

hoya n kenko same quality i think? another good brand is B+W, n of course nikon's own filter

cheap brandless not good, might spoil ur pic. if u dun wan to buy good ones, better dun buy at all
*
Cheap Hoya/Kenko spoils the image too tongue.gif. Basically, if you get what you pay for. Something good would be like the SuperHMC, Pro1D or HD from Hoya/Kenko.

Any 1 used pro tama uv filter here?

My friend uses a cheapo protama uv filter. I can only say, it feels like the cheap Hoya/Kenko lol. Lots of flare generated.

Do you know how does flare look like? Cheap single coated ones will introduce flare to your picture which is why if you're going for those cheap ones, might as well don't use one if you're concen of image quality.

I know ... So filter will ruin the IQ in terms of flare appearance right?  smile.gif

Flare, edge darkening, loss of light yada yada. So basically, the glass does matter smile.gif.

The more glass you add to your lens, the more image quality reduction you'll see. Don't use so many lor.

u nid ppl who used Tammy 17-50 without VC for your question  tongue.gif

u can try 1/50 using your kitty with VR off n c

The only reason why I didn't want to invest in a Nikkor 17-55 f/2.8, lack of VR and is even pricier than the 17-55 f/2.8 IS of Canon!

VR is damn important, my 70-200 can nail sharp pictures at 1/8s at 200mm (300mm equivalent).

RM4050 for a new D300s Nikon Malaysia set? Better check the unit by yourself first, does he have stock in hand? A lot of shops love to give low pricing but no stock one.

This is good news for consumers like us when both of them goes head on like that smile.gif. Not good when one company monopoly over the market.

My 18-105 is already collecting dust ever since I bought the 50mm and 70-200mm. Only time I were to bring out the 18-105 is for the wide end >.<

wah, if D90 users's 18-105 collecting dust after getting fast lenses
means us with 18-55 can throw d after getting 17-50/17-55 f/2.8  tongue.gif
*
17-50 f/2.8 is to replace the 18-55 kit isn't it? Unless you need than extra 5mm tongue.gif

taking sun photo will kill the cam?
i using d5000 with a polarizing filter

Kill the sensor, try this. Shoot at the sun, and then do a dead pixel check. More dead pixels would pop up after your shot at the harsh sun >.<

QUOTE(yushin @ Apr 8 2010, 03:50 PM)
It depends on the owner and what type of picture I expect to get when I go out shooting.
I have fast lenses (24-70,70-200) but I still use 18-105 on daytime as its light and flexible.
Means I always have to squat in front of my drybox to think what lens to take every time I go out.  tongue.gif
*
Ahh if I were you, its definitely the 24-70 most of the time, or 70-200 when need tele. I doubt I would consider the 18-105 at all.

hi.

i'm newbie here..

aiming to buy a build in motor DSLR(below 3k),so it would be D90 right?D5000 got build in motor?

which model suitable for newbie?

here d problem again..

which lens should i choose? i just wanna use 1 lens to take a photo, scenery,portrait,every...

do 18-105 okay?

reli on a tight budget..

1 more problem

1) 50mm f1.8D
2) 35mm f1.8G

wat is d different between 35mm&50mm?

seem lk 50mm r reli cheap..

btw wat is d different with 50mm f1.8 & 1.4??
*
Go for D90 with the current price drop, it makes the D5000 pricey unless they drop the pricing of D5000 as well.
