side character do not really justify the originallity of a movie flick.

instead of stir things up, the 1998 movie was a total HOMAGE to Godzilla.

and HOMAGE is not even close to the real thing.

but u know what, im one of those who bought their T-shirt when it's out in the cinema. n yes, that's 1998. HAHAHAH.

HAhah.... for me, movie entertainment is the most important....
Originality is always 2nd especially in today era of filming....

Cant help how it would looks like if they made an ultraman movie lol...

hmm. interesting thought.

Im prety sure it will involved the sleeping giant ( Jupiter ) , and some bunch of advance scientist for a secret project..

And this DNA is injected into the human body, 100 people tested. 99 failed ( become farkingly ugly monster that challenge the Ultraman) and 1 succeed ( Ultraman ).

Then comes the gigantic transformation technique. It will be more gruesome than some of kamen rider 80's henshin. can u imagine 6 ft tall becoming so big but need a very biologic transofrmation? EEEWWWW

There's a few exception though. Like The Ring (2002) is superior than the Jap version IMO.

Just saw it, talk about mismarketing, two of the most anticipated elements are barely in it, first is Godzilla and second Bryan Cranston. But then I should have expected this from Gareth Edwards, in Monsters the creatures appear in the last bloody 5 minutes.

Watched in 3d
Not bad but disappointed on duel with two monsters. They not focused on them.
I expected maybe jets and apache help gojira while struggle fight with two monsters...but they just watch it...helpless instead. sad.gif

But definitely better than 98's movie.
This one more cute and chubby though

Watched it in IMAX 3D yesterday and there was a long 3 minute trailer being played so not sure if thats the one you're referring to.

For Godzilla, I'd say watch it in IMAX because of the big screen and not for the 3D. I hardly notice much of the 3D.
I understand the director wants to show the monsters from the human's point of view but after a while it gets kinda frustrating that you only get a glimpse here and there. And there were times when the monsters were attacking and the scene just suddenly cuts off/ ends just like that just when you're starting to get pumped up.
Didn't really like the design of the spider thingy though especially their flat head/body which kinda looks like plastic/wood.

Too much time spent on human characters and the long wait is expected so I'll not brag about that.

3/5

I actually prefer the 1998 Godzilla (which should probably be part of the Jurrassic Park installment where a T rex evolves into something bigger and uglier) just because it was more entertaining and fun. I mean there's a car chase scene and baby Godzillas running all over the place!
