quite boring, they should take out 90% of the human character plot and focus on the godzilla plot. how it attack the city, how building, cars and destroy etc..
this is what people pay for, they not paying to see loooong dialog and looong shot on human face. they are paying to see the godzilla fight. what irritated me most is their 70% screen time are allocate to human face. im like what the heck? imaging skyscraper-size monster fighting fighting fighting, tension building up and such, almost reach the climax of the fight and BAM! a zoom-in shot on the guy face. what? although it not much of a steam killler but these little "details" eventually add up. its kind of dissapointing to me since their trailer are so horror, epic, dark and such. |

DAMN NICE watch it in 3D it much better than pacific rim.. narration and tension, emotional attachment due to the breaking bad main actor...
most awesome part is when the monster not gozilla make a wave of magnetic interference.. Gozilla 1 tail strike kill the male monster ..Gozilla emits nuclear strike ?? kamekameha !! |

I don't know about ur but I am getting very pisses of with kick ass movie trailers only for movie to be sh1t. The movie for me was a total let down.. Like some people say too much screen time on human for a Godzilla movie. Did the people involve songlap or something??

Godzilla (2014)
Wow, this is actually a very difficult movie for me to review... It is actually more true to it's first inception (1954, Japanese). Japan is the ONLY country in the world to be at the receiving end of a nuclear bomb (two actually). Godzilla (made 9 years after the bombing) is a reflection of Japan's feeling towards nuclear? (A defenseless creature, changed by a nuclear explosion, and become Godzilla. Mankind pays for unleashing the nuclear power) The 1998 American version evolves around the same theme, except instead of Tokyo, San Francisco was the battle ground! This version... accomplished what Roland Emmerich wanted to achieve but fail, to make a Godzilla movie from a human ground level P.O.V. Technically this movie is an astounding achievement,, the first and half of the second act are great!!, the issue starts somewhere in the middle of the movie... The director "lost" me!!... Before that let me just say my, how much Aaron Taylor-Johnson (kickass) had grown... They got good actor for most of the roles and no real big names, I believe the producer wanted the attention to focus on the lead, Godzilla himself... And there lays the issue... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The human interest parts were draggy.Oh I lie, there is a well known actor here, Ken Watanabe. You need Ken Watanabe to do THAT role?? What the... Oh!?! » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « They built up alot of tension for the final show down and... Frankly, I still have not decided if I like or dislike this movie... Need more processing time... My Less Than Two Sen... This post has been edited by Mov_freak: May 16 2014, 01:39 AM |

Holy crap! Most of you here don't understand. Clearly, in order for us to experience awe and wonder, the director wants us to experience the film from the human POV like Jurassic Park or Cloverfield and unlike Pacific Rim. I felt that it was a bold and classy move, it sets itself apart from countless "mass destruction" films.
Having said that.... I don't think it was the best decision for this particular film. The POV styled shots shud have stopped the moment we see Godzilla's foot in the airport. The monster bashing shud have started there. Bryan Cranston is amazing! Aaron Taylor Johnson with his good looks does not command the screen at all. He has the screen presence of a 90's CRT screen protector. A disappointment. Not major, but still..... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by Frankmiller92: May 16 2014, 01:20 AM |

compared to the last Godzilla outing, this is so much better but this doesn't mean Godzilla 2014 anyway the best giant/monster/destruction movie. The 1998 is just painful to watch. this one is good but don't expect to come out feeling the same as a kid watching rubber suit monster wrecking havoc.

Well, I dont know why so serious about the theme, sure they use godzilla for the 98 movie, but as long as it's an entertaining movie, why not? I mean i can named it Mutated Lizard or monster attack, but the important is the content..... I was hoping to see the MUTOs humping each other but nope
Spotlight of the film is definitely the atomic breath ... Other than that I got no complains. Pretty decent monster flick. I'm not a huge fan of Godzilla and only watched most of the 1998 animated series. This post has been edited by jubz: May 16 2014, 10:17 AM |

Director tend to stir thing up to make it more enjoyable, of cause not on the fan but to the open public..... If staying true to the original, why not just rubber suit than CGI? But i understand you feeling, i am a fan to some other movie too and got piss when it ran far off the track from the original, but take it open-mindedly, it just a movie, as long as it got and entertaining plot and characters, is good for me. |
