This doesn't represent that
-They won't reuse the same undersea cable putus scenario once in a while.
-Lightning won't travel more faster then before to fry your modem.
-Their price is still reasonable.
-It's cheap to install those crap into your home.
alast....
-They ain't gonna revise their t&c to show that oversea connection isn't gonna be 80% above what is advertise.
*we've seen them actually shutting down callcenter and amended their t&c before for international speed. It's plain absurb and barbaric.*
*MCMC actually did nothing but kept quiet*

No point in waiting right? You're either okay with the cap or you're not. Even their T&C says they can alter the agreement whenever they want, even if they officially remove all the bandwidth limits off their brochures, you think they can't just set a new cap whenever they want?

They're probably just sick of 24/7 downloaders.. hence setting a 'cap' so they have a reason to cut you off if you abuse the network. That's why its called fair usage policy. Even in their datacenters, you can buy 1mbps dedicated line burstable to 10mbps, but if you burst @ 10mbps 24/7 they will cut you off.

Yea, I love bashing torrenters that's why I started a thread on LYN how to bypass TMnet throttles. Stop with the stupid generalizations already.

Bloody morons.

If you're happy with the cap limit don't say anything, not all bandwidth are taken by torrents. That's stupid. When we demand more bandwidth they just look at the pirates and torrents.

What's the point of having 5MBps-20MBps package? If they throttle Youtube!??!! Im so damn angry!..

even 512kbps could run youtube without problems before!..... now I have 1MBps and I cant even watch smoothly!? Its confirmed for my case they throttle youtube..

I can watch smooth from 12am-10am(Daily) so means 10.01am-11.59pm(I cant watch)

From Bernama:

QUOTE
TM will not impose montly volume cap on Unifi subscribers

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — Telekom Malaysia Bhd ™ today clarified that the monthly data volume cap for its consumer UniFi packages will not be implemented immediately.

This applies to all Unifi packages offered to consumers — the VIP5, VIP10 and VIP20, it said in a statement. UniFi is its newly-launched high-speed broadband (HSBB) services.

In the meantime, TM will monitor traffic and usage patterns to determine and develop an appropriate approach in ensuring that all UniFi subscribers have a positive experience online.

The company said it reserved the right to implement a fair usage policy (FUP) as it wants to ensure that its subscribers are not seriously impacted by unfair use of the service by a few.

FUP is a standard industry practice implemented by fixed line, wireless and cellular data service providers the world over, it said. It will allow TM to mitigate the potential effects of unfair usage on the majority of UniFi subscribers and ensure a superior quality of service for all, it added. — Bernama

means that TM will cap you when you least expect it!!
