QUOTE(Hamas @ Mar 25 2010, 08:03 PM) still have streamyx up to 4mbps choice which is uncap, so stop being so greedy and angry with unifi just because you can't download illegal movie and games faster this guy works with TM, confirm case. srsly la buddy, the cap is just too low. everyone is ok with the idea of bandwidth capping but currently its TOO LITTLE for the line. If your talking about 512kbps line cap @ 60GB monthly, everyone gonna be happy. But when you talking about 5Mbps cap @ 60GB monthly, thats just plain stupid.

I must say, that if it's true that they are capping at 2GB/day instead of 60GB/month, I don't find that acceptable. There are days when someone might need to do a lot of transferring, and other days when they might not.
Also, it's important to recognize that 60GB/month is NOT the same as 2GB/day. If they are advertising it as 60GB/day but then implementing the limit at 2GB/day, then someone should take them to court, because they lied.
If they are playing fast and loose with the granularity of their usage threshholds, then they might as well say that 2GB/day is a 185kb per second cap. That is, 0.185mbps service.

Which is one reason I'm pissed at it. 60GB a month isn't that bad, though its still quite low. However if its 2GB/day, then its just plain ridiculous. There's absolutely no point in going for HSBB then.

QUOTE(silverhawk @ Mar 25 2010, 01:28 PM) This is a ridiculous argument. The reason HSBB is created is to cater for online content, which includes online HD content, which is not necessarily delivered through your IPTV. So you'll easily hit that 2GB/day limit with 5mbps. EASILY. You don't have to be a pirate to hit those rates. You tak suka then don't subscribe, as easy as that.............

the project is heavy funded by gov but why so expensive?
------------------------------------------
The RM11.3 billion project, signed in September 2008, is a public-private partnership agreement between TM and the Malaysian government to develop next generation HSBB infrastructure and services for the nation.
TM is putting up RM8.9 billion while the government is contributing RM2.4 billion on an incurred claims basis based on project milestones reached by TM.
...
According to TM, its total expenditure related to the HSBB project as of Dec 31, 2009 reached RM1.9 billion, which covered last-mile access, Internet Protocol core deployment and capacity expansion for international links.
Total approved claims from the government up to December 2009 stood at RM990 million.

There's absolutely no point in going for HSBB then. Which is why I said in the few pages back that the biggest issue isn't the monthly cap, its the DAILY CAP. God.... 2GB is already little, but what about people who shares connection under 1 roof? 2GB can be gone in less than 30 minutes. And then that automatically means, WHAT is the damn use of using HSBB when 4mbps streamyx can do nearly the same BUT without capping? You know how much family/housemates arguments one is gonna get into just because the person's little sister couldn't download her songs when she comes back from school? Yea, that's pure bull**** there. This post has been edited by SSJBen: Mar 25 2010, 08:30 PM
