Its the DAILY CAP.
Apparently, if you're on the 5mbps package you'll have 60GB a month at that translates to 2GB a day.
Download any more than that, 1mbps you go.... or some say, 512kbps.
I don't know to laugh, to get pissed or to cry.

QUOTE(PrinceCaspien @ Mar 25 2010, 03:24 PM) For those who does not want cap usage, please sign up for business package......business package no cap but 5Mbps have to pay extra RM50..... Lol. No.You cannot sign for a business package in a resedential premise, unless you state that you are running a business from home where by you'll need to proove the credentials of your business to them. Don't go thinking TM is that stupid to seemingly put a big loophole there so everyone will subscribe for the 5mbps business package. |

QUOTE(PrinceCaspien @ Mar 25 2010, 03:32 PM) simple mah, to register enterprise company on need RM60 mah....put your home address.... Thing is, not everyone is working... what are students gonna do? lol.if the 5Mbps is stable......nonstop downloading......you will hit 1.8GB of data in 1 hour, if you continuous download.....within 60hours, we'll hit the cap within 2 days...... And wanna go through all the hassle to go register a company, and then to get a measely rip-off RM200 5mbps package? lulz.... talk about retardness. If you read my post in the last page, theres a daily cap. So you won't hit 60GB in two days. |

QUOTE(silverhawk @ Mar 25 2010, 08:13 PM) Which is one reason I'm pissed at it. 60GB a month isn't that bad, though its still quite low. However if its 2GB/day, then its just plain ridiculous. There's absolutely no point in going for HSBB then. Which is why I said in the few pages back that the biggest issue isn't the monthly cap, its the DAILY CAP.God.... 2GB is already little, but what about people who shares connection under 1 roof? 2GB can be gone in less than 30 minutes. And then that automatically means, WHAT is the damn use of using HSBB when 4mbps streamyx can do nearly the same BUT without capping? You know how much family/housemates arguments one is gonna get into just because the person's little sister couldn't download her songs when she comes back from school? Yea, that's pure bull**** there. This post has been edited by SSJBen: Mar 25 2010, 08:30 PM |

QUOTE(roommate @ Mar 27 2010, 04:33 PM) Hurm. For normal usage like surfing perhaps? LOL Why would you need 5mbps for surfing wepages only?Anyway, they said the capping is for browsing/loading data from international, but for local data, they didn't cap. I'm not sure bout this though. The main advantage for 5mbs line is not only the download speed is huge, but the upload speed is huge too!! FYI, the Unifi package didn't capped for upload activity, u can upload as much as u want. Its good for a personal/business who need to deal with international people, where they can upload the data needed as big as they want at a high speed. That's the most redundant post I've seen all day. All that is needed is 512kbps with PROPER routing to international sites, and you can surf any sites without a single hitch. |

QUOTE(netmatrix @ Mar 27 2010, 04:46 PM) Ok here are some problems on capping. Who will answer? - IPTV runs on a seperate bandwidth, nothing to do with the cap. But the cap is already suspended now anyways so... whatever.- How much bandwidth does IPTV takes if yo use it 24/7 the whole month? More or less than 60GB? If less, how about IPTV being in HD which requires more data to be transferred? - Don't forget there are a lot of software updates almost weekly for windows and the plethora of softwares installed on our system. These add up. - Emails with attachment. How many MB per mail daily? - Gaming? Not just gaming alone. The patches, the add-ons, the chat that goes behind the games. Don't they add up bandwidth? What if you have a console game machine besides a PC hooked on too? - Notebooks and mobile wi-fi devices? - For 1 person it is hard to max out the 60GB limit. But if you have 2 computers with just these few things being done daily 60GB is definitely not enough. For RM149 for 5MB is high. But if you share for 2 computers it is just nice as it is like paying RM77 each with 2.5mbps speed. But even then 30GB per pc cap!! Yes still better than P1 20GB cap. But damn modern PC is all bandwidth brother!! Whats the use of getting high speed when the speed ends in a blink? Its a blardy freaking carnival ride! - Yes they do. - No idea how big an attachment for a file you can throw in on an email. - Again, yes they do. - YES, they do. - How hard is it to reach 60GB lol? It sounds alot, but trust me it isn't. |
