This is a ridiculous argument.

The reason HSBB is created is to cater for online content, which includes online HD content, which is not necessarily delivered through your IPTV. So you'll easily hit that 2GB/day limit with 5mbps.  EASILY.

You don't have to be a pirate to hit those rates.

they cap 2gb each day?

Same here, available to me, but I'm not going to support it until they up the caps by at least 150%

its mentioned that the 60gb cap is pro-rated throughout the month, so we're assuming a 2GB cap per day from the way they describe it.

I'd agree on the cap thing but wtf 1Mbps? thats too ghey.

Plus how would this "pay to uncap" service works anyhow? Automatic charge for extra bandwidth use or cap first then ask to be uncap?

stupiak TMnet, cap till 1Mbps for what, cap 50% subscribe speed I think is more reasonable!

Since you're a trial user

how much do you use roughly? Not counting trying to smash through their limits laugh.gif Do you think its going to be useful if its capped at 60GB? What cap do you think would be reasonable as a test user?
*
Well the utorrent client on my pc shows around 300gb downloaded in the last 31 days. Factor in all the rapidshare download and hd streaming the total might be at least 500gb for my pc alone and there is 3 other pc in the household.

There's no way im going to continue with the caps, 60gb??? Could barely last a week with 4 pcs in the house.

What do i think is the reasonable cap? In my case with 4 pcs, the mininum is 250gb otherwise I will be staying with streamyx. I wont probably be downloading as much because right now Im just testing their bandwith capacity. rclxms.gif But still with 4 pc 60gb is way too low.

My house alone has 4 pcs as well laugh.gif well 1 pc, and 3 notebooks... tongue.gif

I think a 150GB cap for 5mbps package would suffice, there should be enough headroom for times we need to download huge patches for games and stuff. Otherwise no point going to HSBB, sticking with streamyx would make more sense.

See how many p2p/filesharing pirates complain here laugh.gif they are the only ones who will hit the cap.

There are a lot of ways to use lots of internet bandwidth in a short time, like buying a game from Steam(DA is 15GB for one game,CoH takes 9GB), watch HD youtube videos, or streaming movies.

I barely use p2p or file share and i can easily use 10GB a day,if i want.

Even playing a game for 2 hours with VOIP uses like 300 to 400MB,easily. Or surfing at LYN also use considerable amount of bandwidth as you are downloading sigs and avatar all the time. Try opening your Network Status on your connection and see how much you use. /k people will love their office internet connection as it probably wont have cap.

Capped internet has very restrictive nature as you if over use it,you'll suffer the consequences like slow internet or they charge you per MB. I have friends paying over 200AUD per person because they exceed 1GB of their cap. I find it actually promotes you to go out more, than sitting at the computer the whole day as you dont want to waste your bandwidth so that you dont suffer at the end of the month.

Still,HSBB is meant to encourage you to use your internet for entertainment contents, not encourage you to go out. doh.gif

Cant belive that Malaysia is actually implementing this ridiculous system, while Australia is implementing HSBB to get rid of it or increase the cap tremendously. 60GB to 120GB is way too little.

I'll keep my 1Mbps internet anyday,at least i dont have to worry about getting over the cap if i decide to go youtube marathon.

Unless you only check emails using your internet everyday, you bound to have problems with capped internet.

i think TMNUT didnt take into account heavy users... or they just dun want heavy users to profit from this unifi hsbb... the price is just too much for the speed and also the cap included... i use 3 pcs at home (sumtimes 4) and i play my ps3 online... its just not enough for me...

Please read the earlier replies explaining that most people will have problems with the cap. I'm not paying for terrible speeds after reaching the cap at the current price.

How to boycott? Just don't subscribe. When TM sees that nobody (or very few) are signing up for this Unifi thing they might have more incentive to increase the caps.

The price is quite affordable, its actually a surprise to me.
But looks like we're paying for the speed only, not bandwidth.

1mb: Max download = 324GB
5mb: Max download = 60GB WTF?

In terms of bandwidth, Time broadband is way better with 15-30 hours of 50Mbps boost.

Yeah right, i spend over RM300 on Steam games last year where in the end ,all 32 games need 90GB to download every single one from scratch. On November, i downloaded 30GB of games, just in 2 days.

Considering all the patches, mods, dlc and shit, i need about 25GB per month that includes 10GB allowance for a big Steam game each month. WTF is this capped internet shit?????

Better get the damn bandwidth monitor then since im gonna use it in both countries.

Also, when you torrent, you are actually using double bandwidth,as in if your movie is 3GB,you are actually downloading 6GB+. Have fun with HSBB.

There goes my dream of using OnLive to play Crysis on i-Phone/netbook. doh.gif

Another failed project by TM. Providing such a low monthly quota defeats the purpose of having HSBB in the first place. Does TM still thinks broadband is for casual chatting and email checking?
