anfieldude and others,
Looking at the US Viera website, it seems that 2011 Viera models will be mostly all 3D TVs. I wonder what will be the replacement for the current V50. Is it the S series? That would be a drastic drop then in specs.
Or does it mean that the current V50 will the last non-3D model in this range?
The reason I asked is that I dont require 3D, at least not at the current price range. If the prices of 3D TVs can come down to 5k then I will consider it. But at the above 10k price range, I cant afford that and the V50 would be the next best thing in my price range. But looking at 2011 lineup, everything has gone 3D - now what? Will the price come down drastically enough to afford one or should I grab the current V50.
What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance I believe there might be G series. Our specs are closer to the UK/Euro releases. In the UK press release, G series will be highest 2D model. I think those who are interested in something like the V might need to go 3D as the 3D series seems to be the ones with the highest specs. The VT30 seems to promise quite a bit.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Feb 27 2011, 07:52 PM) 2011's G series seems to be 3D too That's the entry level GT30 3D plasma. There is also the G30 series. These have the Infinite Black 2 feature. The VT30 has the higher spec'ed Infinite Black 2 Pro.

Thanks in advance I think if you take away all the supposedly goodies like 3D glasses, free 3D Player etc, the price between 2D and 3D should be a lot narrower.

QUOTE(CuteSniper22 @ Feb 25 2011, 06:42 PM) Just bought p42v20k(RM2550). The price just dropped recently (1~2 weeks ago), should be in 2.6k~ 2.8k. Many shops still not update their price yet.. You should ask properly.. The research i done, the previous price should be from 4k++ > 3.5k > now is 2.6~2.8++. Previously, i'm also wanna buy LCD/LED but after the promoter introduce me plasma, LCD, I changed my mind. What i listened from promoter that when you look at LED TV, there is sticker sticked with term "LED LCD TV" instead of showing "LED TV". This mean this is LCD-based with adding a LED light panel as an ADD-on. Like a hybrid version of LCD TV. so I drop my mind on LED. I don't know much about LED TV..U may go and look for wikipedia (just a comment, correct me if i'm wrong) As for LCD, u better try to press on the screen see whether a big water wave come out. If yes, the LCD used single layer for screen (unreliable if ur home kids keep pressing on the screen hardly). (Unsure!! told by promoter). I ask him why some LCD cost 999 only... so this is the reason...(of course included lack of HDMI & other features). Good luck... Hi there, Can pm me about where you have brought your p42v20k at such price? I actually looking 50" V20k, if the price been drop so much, i wonder how much is the p50v20k now? Thanks in advance for the info.

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Mar 2 2011, 11:44 AM) same here..kindly let me know the shop too (hopefully they are in PJ/Puchong area).. I just bought 50V20K right b4 CNY @ RM4,999.00. Browsed Best Denki website and called to each branch for ex-stock. Also bought the Netgear USB WIFI adaptor [this one bought at higher price coz most PC shops no more carry Netgear products nowadays due to after sales service issue but i manage to contact one of the local distributor in Seksyen 13]. My wife and kids now watch Youtube with ease via Unifi..

I was quoted RM299/= for the USB WiFi adapter from Panasonic, but I yet to buy, coz was told that the shop did not carry the USB WiFi adapter and have to buy from Panasonic service center. You mentioned that u bought the Netgear USB WiFi adapter, is that mean it can be use with the 50V20K? If yes, do u mind to share how much is the Netgear USB WiFi adaptor? Btw, beside Netgear, can I use any USB WiFi adapter? Thank you

Tested USB WIFI was Netgear WNDA3100 [N600 Dual Band] but I can't find it in Low Yat Plaza coz most PC shop no more selling Netgear products due to poor service. So, better don't waste your time to search around because this product also not a common hot selling model and i don't think you can easily find one from outside PC shop. You may straight call to Kaira Technologies Sdn Bhd in PJ Seksyen 13 and order one from them [they have ex-stock during my order time, right b4 CNY] and dealed at RM300.00. Good luck on your search and congrat on your new purchase.. Cheers..
