hi a new REIT investor here.
what if i want to invest in singapore REITs? i know its possible but the brokerage and other charges seems to be rather high, so if I want to invest what is the min lot that is recommended to buy so that the high brokerage and whatever charges is worth it?

You can open an account with Phillips security for Singapore shares transaction over the internet. Charges are reasonably low at 0.28%, min SGD 25. Webpage. Otherwise local broker's brokerage is not too bad either... laugh.gif

Maybank Trims AmanahRaya REIT Target To MYR1.12
Written by admin on February 14th, 2011. Posted in News Flash Alerts
[Updated] STOCK CALL: Maybank IB Research trims AmanahRaya REIT’s (5127.KU) DCF-based target price to MYR1.12 from MYR1.19 after lowering its 2011-2012 net profit forecasts by 3.0%-11% due to a six month delay in the completion of 3 PKNS asset acquisitions. The house says 2010 realized net profit of MYR41.4 million (+34% on-year) is within the house’s expectations but 12% above street. “We continue to like AmanahRaya REIT for its 7.7% 2011 yield (on par with 7.8% industry), and good earnings visibility and sustainability supported by long lease agreements with step-up features,” says Maybank. The stock is flat at MYR0.945; the house keeps its Buy call. ()

Does anyone know about the status for the PKNS asset acquisitions? When is the review on ARREIT's NAV due?

Good choice to go for Singapore REITs. Better governance and no tax at all in the hands of the unitholders. Minimum lot to acquire is generally 1 lot being equal to 1000 shares, but you can try on odd lots, ie below 1000 shares. Philip Securities offers this.

DBS Vickers offers $18 minimum charge on the Cash Upfront Account, Internet trading - the cheapest so far in Singapore.

Good luck !

@MNet, I have not heard of this, if it is true, then the capital will be regained in 4 years if the fund survived. Stock counter giving a yield of 25%, perhaps, if there is special dividend annpunced, but Speacial Dividends won't come every year.

Yes, 1000 shares for 1 lot, unless odd lots, OR; it is specified in the share name of the number of shares that make up per lot, eg, for Singapore Airlines :-

1) SIA counter - 1000 shares for 1 lot

2) SIA200 counter - 200 shares for 1 lot

Hi im very new to REIT. some silly questions:

1) is REIT like normal share? meaning when it goes down ur capital will be affected? or it stays throughout the lifetime like FD?

2) which local brokerage firm is recommended if i wanted to purchase REIT?

3) for other singapore's REIT, i can do it online via Philip securities right? is it reliable?

Q1 - yes it's like normal shares can trades, the price fluatate as the shares price but this is dividen play type (capital growth very slow) the divvy depends to the company performance

Q2 - all local licensed brokerage firms can trades REIT's. for further understanding u are encourage to look at this site http://mreit.reitdata.com/

for SG reits try http://reitdata.com/ ...... the brokerage will be different for foreign shares (if u'r using local brokerage firms)

hope this can helps rolleyes.gif

I've bought it last fri. but the money settlement is T+3 days.
I wonder shall follow T+3 days that is 20/04/11 after settlement or last frid when i bought it then straight forward treated as i hd bought in ?

Not yet seen any announcement for the ex-date yet.
Recently only announced that the 1st quarterly unaudited financial report to be released by 28 Apr 2011.
So, is it the ex-date shall be counted 2 weeks after release of 1st quarterly financial report ?
