Hi all Have been following this REITs thread here for some time now and would like to bring up a topic for advise/discussion: Between direct property investmt and REITs, which provides better returns? Also taking into consideration effort (of maintaining a tenant etc) vs reward (yield). I know some pros for REITs (not sure abt the rest..) that has been highlighted, but they don't really provide me insights of the actual experience. REITs -Experienced managers to handle the properties -More liquid than a physical property -A stake at larger assets Anyone here who owns both rental properties as well as in REITs be able to share their opinions?

Good sharing, thanks for your responses. I actually have several REITs in my pocket but now fiddling with the thought of 'upgrading' (if it is considered an upgrade) to direct property. I'm a young executive and comfortable with my cashflow so considering to either to continue channelling more money into REITs or enter the complicated task of handling tenants.

Anyone can advise on the reason why UOAreit dropped by 7sens in noon today? Is it a payout or random turn of events?

QUOTE Maybank Trims AmanahRaya REIT Target To MYR1.12 Written by admin on February 14th, 2011. Posted in News Flash Alerts [Updated] STOCK CALL: Maybank IB Research trims AmanahRaya REIT’s (5127.KU) DCF-based target price to MYR1.12 from MYR1.19 after lowering its 2011-2012 net profit forecasts by 3.0%-11% due to a six month delay in the completion of 3 PKNS asset acquisitions. The house says 2010 realized net profit of MYR41.4 million (+34% on-year) is within the house’s expectations but 12% above street. “We continue to like AmanahRaya REIT for its 7.7% 2011 yield (on par with 7.8% industry), and good earnings visibility and sustainability supported by long lease agreements with step-up features,” says Maybank. The stock is flat at MYR0.945; the house keeps its Buy call. () myShare2u Bursa Malaysia News Headlines Alerts Does anyone know about the status for the PKNS asset acquisitions? When is the review on ARREIT's NAV due?
