Wah... rclxms.gif  Ok... Thx for your feedback.

BTW, may I know which TV capture card are good for HTPC.

Currently I'm using leadtek winfast one.... it's kinda cheap TV card (bought it for about RM140 on last January),
only have FM, Analog TV, Composite and S-video input....

And I have heard that some TV card offered something that called IR-BLASTER. It can control the Astro TV channels through HTPC remote control. It's that true? And can suggest me some good TV card for HTPC...? notworthy.gif

Most ppl use hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 ....

Ir Blaster is to receive the signal from yr Media Center remote control and sent out the learned signal ( change channels ) to yr devices like Astro decoder..

I wrote something about it in my blog below...

With Astro byond offering PVR service, the above mention method is kinda obsolete....

Thanks... a really good blog for newbie on HTPC setup like me.... thumbup.gif

And I wanna ask some more, I have setup my new HTPC, and I'm using Vista Home Premium,

But when I tried to connect my HTPC to my Panasonic TX-37LE8MK LCD TV via HDMI connection,

The picture become too sharp and it's hard to read the font on my LCD... The default resolution that I can obtained better image on my LCD TV was 1280x720 @ 60Hz

But when I set the output resolution to 1366x768 @ 60Hz (my LCD TV native resoultion) , the picture become too small and "Window boxed" happens

The desktop seems not so smooth like when I connected my PC via DVI connection to my 20" Samsung LCD monitor....

what's the problem actually? It comes from my LCD TV or my setup?? hmm.gif

And yes, I'm using Byond PVR (upgrade from my older Max)

Planning to replace my Xqbox with Silverstone GD05. Anyone using this casing? I try to search low depth casing to match with my tv rack and this casing suit best. The only problem is there is only one external 5.25' drive bay.

you use more than 1 optical drive issit?
1 unit of BD combo or BD writer should be enough for most people. i don't even have an optical drive for my HTPC. the 2 extra slot could be used for 3 more HDD. biggrin.gif

Owh.. okok.. Nice price..

BTW, i dicover a very nice soundcard for HTPC setup. Using it myself as well. Its Onkyo SE-90PCI. Comes with LP Bracket for small casing and standard Bracket for ATX casing.

The sound really very very nice.. More details of the product here but too bad in Japanese only..

Yes, that happens when u try to use a higher resolution that the supported resolution on yr LCD TV.

From yr descriptions, looks like yr native resolution is probably 720p instead of the higher one stated...

You can try to use a bigger font size to compensate the blur font cos it is pretty hard to read at a distance away.

What graphic card are you using ?

You must hv gotten yr Byond PVR upgrade for free promo to existing Max users... too bad I live in condo and cannot take up that free offer cos the internal wiring is centralized antenna.

One of the forumer sells this item from the east malaysia actually.

SE200 PCI actually do not have 5.1 analogue output, which I thought it has. The cable that comes with it offer 5.1 output only to onkyo specified computer speakers only. Not to the audio hifi power amp. I almost got the unit until I found this out after that forumer tested the unit himself and confirmed the finding.

Personally I prefer USB DAC to internal soundcard. This is to isolate the PC internal noise from the DAC. You can get one from few hundreds to thousands.

Note: USB DAC is only for 2 channel music. For movie, I prefer HDMI audio out from H55 or ATI 5xxx for HD bitstreaming. GTX460 is supposed to support HD bitstreaming but not on current driver.
