Hi guys,

I cannot bitstream Dolby digital Plus(E-AC3) to my Denon AVR.
DTS HD, DTS HRA, DTS, AC3 and True HD work Fine.

My GPU is Radeon 5870, Catalyst 11.2, Realtek HDMI 2.55 and Realtek HD Audio 2.58 driver.
Im using windows 7 64 bit,
Spliter > MPC-HC (Gabest)
Decoder > ffdshow video and audio
EDID Hack

I tested with MPC-HC x32, MPC-HC x64, WMP12 x32, WMP12 x64, TMT 5 and Splash Player Pro.
Still not success full bitstreaming EAC3. But other HD Audio work fine.

Currently im using ffdshow to convert EAC3 to PCM and pass to HDMI.

Does any know how to fix this?
Can i fix this with nvidia GPU?

Hmm ... planning to get a HTPC cause own desktop kinda like half dead. Kept hanging at random point even bios.

Saw Dell Inspiron Zino HD and quite interested on it.
But with that price, i think self assemble is more better, am I right?

Just checked and Asus E35M1-M PRO motherboard is in my mind now.
However I have no idea which casing is suitable for it >.<
Does PSU include with the casing or separate get?

RAM: 2GB DDR3
DVD-ROM: Depends cause already own external
HDD: 500GB enough - using 2.5" ?

Anything else recommend? Thanks.

P.S. Can I use the casing from here and which better? : http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1032806&hl=

a dear forummer has once recommended this setup , may well serve as a reference :
QUOTE
HTPC Config:
1. Asus E35M1-M PRO - RM480

2. 2GB DDR3 RAM - RM65

3. 1TB Hard disk - RM160

4. Casing - RM100
= Silverstone ML-03 HTPC Casing, around Rm280 without PSU

5. Coolermaster 400w PSU - RM100

6. BD-ROM from forumer - RM220
Total damage = RM1125
Not only can play MKV, can also bistream BD.iso and play actual blu-ray. :

You have to check the configuration back in your avr.
I also have similar problem last time, but still able viewing bios screen, cause by windows driver.

Hi, I'm new here. Would like to have HTPC for my new place.

1. GIGABYTE E350N-USB3 FUSION or ASUS E35M1-M PRO - Is the processor and video built-in is fast and capable of viewing full HD movies (MKV)?
2. 2GB DDR3 RAM?
3. HDD - any disk space
4. CASING - any nice casing, maybe Silverstone
5. COOLMASTER FAN- required?

Anything that I'm missing? I need to make sure that the videos played are in smooth condition.

Also, any recommendation on sound system?

Thanks!

Im currently using a similar setup.. great budget HTPC. no problems so far.. works great with XBMC.. 24hrs running my downloads.

ASUS E35M1-M PRO
8GB RAM
2 TB HDD
Silverstone ML03
CM 650 extreme powersupply

If you are getting the ML03 you might consider getting additional case fans.. at first i did not put any case fans.. temperature was around 51-56 .. after mounting a big fan on the ML03 that has vented holes on the top case cover(pulls) and smaller fans on the side vents(push).. drop to 41-43..

Definately noise level increased but.. you can tweak the fan speed with AI suite.. have not got the time to do so..

Hi HTPC pros! I have a question to ask.

I'm considering a HTPC setup but the trick is i need to use the COMPUTER AND watch TV at ANOTHER SCREEN at the SAME TIME!

For example, can i watch youtube, play starcraft on my 22" monitor while another person watch Harry Pottery (that is stored in the samecomputer's hard drive) on a 42" plasma tv that is booked up to the same computer's graphic card.

Oh and there must be 2 speakers working independantly.

a cheapo media player could be the much more straightforward solution to your requirement...
but yea, i dunno how to execute this via a PC
