Well putting aside the specs, the warranty is covered in Malaysia if you buy one locally unlike Nexus One, you can order thru US

i have tested this phone before it released to the public. notice there are few issues with the phone, BATTERY problem. however, if you know how to tweak, it can last you at least 2 days usage:

1.Exchange push mail
2.Gmail
3.make couple phone calls average of 5 mins per call
4.SMS
5.turn off 3G
6.do not set friend stream widget at home screen ( it will drain your battery )

Yes, battery life is terrible. I charge it everyday but oh well, that's because I set all my accounts to sync every couple of hours or so tongue.gif But then, my News widget is not updating itself! Am subscribing to Malaysia Insider RSS.

Yeah I guess pouch should be quite easily available isn't it? But I'm waiting for a hard casing, preferably a black translucent one!

if i would to position HTC legend between Blackberry and iphone, i would place HTC in betwwen Blackberry and iPhone. this phone is superb and i would say is one of the most solid phone that i ever tested. highly recommended to those who wanna get an android phone.

Was it just purely the design that attracted you? Coz with a RM50-200 more, you could get a Nexus One which has much better features. My colleague was thinking of getting the HTC legend, simply because he likes the design better. The red is quite eye-catching....i just didn't like the skateboard look to it, ie. the raised part at the bottom of the phone wink.gif

About the last sentence.. the rise part called chin...
Seriously before I bought my htc magic(also have a chin) I also din like it... but.. the chin role the biggest job on phone's hardware.. coz it protect the screen from certain pressure. Believe me u will like it for sure after using it for long time period.

How to claim warranty if u buy Nexus one? is there any warranty covered in Malaysia? this could be a very strong point adding to the factor of buying HTC legend.

The design was one of the big selling point, The build quality is amazing. The unibody aluminium feels so good in your hands. I wanted to wait for the HTC Desire (I wouldn't buy the Nexus One because no HTC Sense and also Google support issues).

I change my phone quite regularly. So for less than RM 2k for this Legend. it';s a no brainer. I am still looking to play with the HTC Desire. I will always look for local set with local SIS warranty for better resale value (again because I change my phone so often). Doesn't matter if I root my phone or not.

But the Legend is small enough to fit nicely on my hands and the red is really stunning. No regrets!

As far as I know, Google's Nexus One needs to be submitted online for fault reporting. Since there's no distributor or retail store.

However, in US, if you buy it under a contract with the mobile operator, you can send it back to the operator, I think.

But for Malaysia, I believe if the retail shop you buy the phone from can give you some sort of warranty, that would be the best you can get. Correct me if I'm wrong.

another word, there is no local warranty for nexus one wink.gif imagine you spend 2k to buy nexus one and few months down the road, the phone is malfunction. lol

basically htc legend and desire's differences are only hardware. of course its better to own a desire than legend if you are performance hunger. anyway, there are ppl selling desire in lelong for around 2k. perhaps you should take a look.

what do u mean by some ap provide 1 year for nexus? meaning if my nexus got problem within 1 year, they do provide us either a 1 to 1 swap or repair? any idea to what extend of warranty they offer? anyway, thanks for your offer. if i wanna get a legend, i can get much better deal direct from SIS.

Design...build quality...hmmm...that's subjective. Teflon coating on N1 is really not that bad.
HTC Sense vs plain vanilla launcher...prefer the latter, but that's again subjective. I like RAW performance.
Support...agreed. Can't have everything...the good stuff about the N1 more than compensates for it...again subjective. For support, Singapore is really not that far away.
Google support issues? I thought N1 integrates better with Google than other Android sets?

One really nice plus point i would really like to add for the N1 is the noise cancellation feature, which the Desire doesn't have. Again, its just a cheap version of the N1. But I do have grouses on my N1....useless trackball (although I like how it illuminates when there's phone activity), Bluetooth headset problems and small external speakers (I was previously a W950 user).

I guess I'll recommend the Legend to my colleague if he favors the same qualities of the phone as you. Thanks! smile.gif

Singapore is really not that far away. I've never been in Singapore my whole life, if i'm to dedicate my time to Singapore just because to claim
some warranty over a phone, wow, that'd be a good point. Just so
u know, not everyone have the time to go visit the Lionhead at times.

Oh well , u got urself a nexus one and i'm pretty sure u want to convince urself that u have the best. Good job on that.
