Combined paper for Chem. Eng. tomorrow.

Anyways, I want to email to FASS (Is it FASS?) because they haven't tell me whether or not I'm exempted from taking BM and General Studies.
Anyone here know the email address?

LOL @ combined paper. I had 3 papers at 5pm and supposedly should be conducted simultaneously with UK. Ended up all had the word Malaysia Campus on it, even the computerised test has the label [Malaysian Variant]. What's the point? Unless I misunderstood the meaning of combined paper...

I heard 1st year entrants will conduct the LAN subjects in Sem 2, or something like that. I also waiting for my moral & malaysian studies schedule. Lame that PA get A- cannot exempt malaysian studies whatsoever.

LOL... Indeed, my friend had a paper on 5pm, which is the same time with the UK, but it's an entirely different paper. Perhaps an error by the software in arranging the timetable?

Hopefully some Franchise can come as they can probably suck up the rental, and we get a more decent place to relax - not the smoky SA lo...

I always dreaded to go there due to the odour getting onto shirt..

Was thinking about Station1, Old Town etc. (although I myself don't really like Old Town.)
Fast food chains like McD are good as well, and McD would be perfect for a quick and affordable lunch!

Hmm, I don't think McD would do very well here.

Population too small. And after you minus out those who have cars and go out in search of good food, those who are health concious, and those who are on budget, and vegetarians..

Probably the dessert station would suffice, they type where they sell apple pies and sundaes.

Now that would be profitable, I think!

Yeah, that makes senses about the small population. McD is even not available in tourists' destination like Port Dickson.
Dessert station, pearl milk tea or stuff like that would be great. As long as they can help to cool off students under that big hot sun!

Oh I meant the McD's dessert station that serves apple pies and different types of sundaes.

For milk tea with pearls, there's already one at the SA, have you tried it? It's next to the SA entrance, on the left. Their ice blended mango is good too, according to my friend..

To add another statement as a "business student", haha: I'm quite sceptical on the setting up of some sort of franchise at the Admin building. Reason being the image. Unless it was Dome or Starbucks, something along that lines. It will most likely be another cafe just like the old one, maybe owned by the same owner.

Yahoo, got my offer letter, scholarship letter and disability support leaflet( ) from Gdex just now! Will be printing out a moving out checklist soon.

About meals, I am personally inclined to bring a small toaster, margarine, oats, coffee etc from home and maybe a meal once a day at the canteen.

I'm really afraid that people will freeload off my food from the fridge though.

Any nice food at the canteen? Didn't manage to survey the stalls there because my parents were a bit busy. I heard the roti canai is good.

That's good news, congrats!

As to the Subway, I've thought about that. But it's highly expensive and impractical for a majority of the students. But yes there probably would still be quite a number of visitors for it to sustain financially. Anyway, who's going to come up with the capital?

By the way, don't take this the wrong way, but those foodstuff of yours aren't considered healthy.
Margarine? Bad. Coffee? Dehydration and bad odour. Roti canai? Bad.
Although this is a small subset but it makes me wonder about the rest of your diet.

A person who's having immune deficiencies should consume raw foods as a majority of his diet. Raw foods, e.g. fruits, nuts, salads. Cooked foods today have very little nutrients left in them, not to mention all the fried oil. Have a look at the discussion here Post #3 and onwards

Take more foods from live sources, and try as best as you can to remove bottled/canned foods from your diet. Dried foods such as imported muesli + dried fruits (stay away from those usual cereals, they're filled to the brim with sugar) would serve as a great breakfast too.

Anyway, the way life works (at least for my clique, who stay on-campus) here is that we eat at SA (aka canteen) most of the time (lunch and dinner, skip breakfast). The main cafe is stuffy so we eat at the area behind SA (the one with indian stall) but sometimes hard to get place.

Generally it's not a good idea to eat, sleep and study at the same place. It gets boring. I usually stay out most of the day and only go back to my room late evening after dinner for shower and study. Day time definitely am out of the room.

But still, it up to you how to live your life on-campus. You'll know your way around once you settle down.

I eat oats every breakfast last time lol. If I didn't skip it that is.

My 2 cents.

Definitely profitable.

You'll have so many foreign students hanging out there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper.

You'll have students who are rushing late night assignments tapao from there.

You'll have students who are too lazy to go out for a meal to hang out there too.

Coffee fix? No problem. Sundae fix? No problem. Apple pie? Can.

It'll be like NTU. I WISH it happened though lol.

Bloody hell got Subway and a few other chain stores. But yeah, their population is huge.

But definitely doable. Assuming if McD really willing to come in in the first place.

First thing first they should fix the parking lots!

I like eating whole grain toast as breakfast Or interchange with oats+ kimchi. Sometimes I eat those vegetable nutrition shakes for a meal.Or subway. My daily meals consist of maybe on of these meals + a normal meal with my family, minus the rice (I hate rice)

What can we eat at the SA and what are the price ranges? Will begin to draft a budget now, since I'm going to move in very soon

Honestly, most of the people that eat in campus are mainly:

1. No choice (got class, lab, things to do)
2. No transportation
3. Stays in campus

I despise the back of SA, so stuffy although open air all thanks to the heat generated from the kitchen.

Too many students there too, smoking, chatting, making noise, under the sun at 1pm. Not my thing.

I wonder if KFC does delivery to UNMC. Just wondering lol

I highly doubt it. Even Pizza hut so near also refuse to deliver because it is a concept store.
