yeah, proud to join the family.
still twisting and tweaking though. no no not really twisting anything, just tweaking setup only. still looking for the best setting coz i know it can be a lot better. dont really know how to call for pro setup.
hopefully we can share experience here. learn a few things already.

I ran 100 continuous hours on mine using a set of colour slides. The panel was mighty warm but I reckon it was good for the internal components to soak in.

Dude, I've added you on the owners list  smile.gif

Btw- please share your thoughts/experience withe the Calman Enhanced Spyder 3 and if possible the difference between Calman over ColorVision's Spyder 3  smile.gif
*
Sure will post some findings once I get it working, no worries. But won't be able to tell you the differences between the Calman calibrated Spyder 3 and that of ColorVision since I do not have one to compare with. If memory serves me right there has been extensive discussions about the two on CurtPalme.

yay! there's a small kurokuro family here ...

okay .. for 508XG owners or other kuro owners ....

508 only have 2 HDMI port contrary to the 3 HDMI port behind ...

meaning ... Port 1,2 and 3 is RCA based (Yellow, Red and White)

Port 4 and 5 is HDMI - and Port 6 is RCA based again (Y,R and W)

funny thing is .. there is actually 3 HDMI port ....

there was a time, where i thought my HDMI Port 3 already kaput or spoilt, but the port 3 has another RCA port nearby ....

so confirm only 2 HDMI .... one for my BDP and one for Astro ...

my port 3 - RCA i use for my older DVD player ... so the HDMI port 3 is actually a dummy ...

have another Philips BDP mah ... btw - do u guys use Pioneer BDP?

netken,

If there are physically 3 HDMI ports (like the 428XG) all 3 ports can be used. U need to enable it in the home menu.

The Ms are just monitors with no tuners and only 2 HDMI inputs. The As have an external tuner and have more inputs.

The M is supposed to calibrate better...however, I have no proof of that.

The A in Asian Region does not have the Pure mode whereas the M does.

the word just under kuro lineup is plasma tv (A) and under it is plasma monitor (M)...

to japanese, tv equals plus tuners, monitors no tuners...but then their tv is really different. tuners, lan, etc ...

thanks AFD - i've tried to check under Home but can't seem to find it ... can anyone help me specifically pls? brows.gif

Meaning that M are monitors so they just can receive direct input from source like HDMI, and A's are equipped with tuners to tune channels like RTM1, RTM2 from the general antenna?

p/s : i still haven't compare the chris botti live in boston and with friends yet - owe u first ... cool.gif

and also the calibration tips u gave me last time, i got lost too course some fields were not available in the 508XG ... : ( as below :

QUOTE(anfieldude @ Feb 27 2010, 11:02 PM)
Shd be ok. But I recommend moving to Movie mode, Colour Space 2, Colour at +4, Brightness +1. Contrast at around 30. Gamma is more accurate with Movie mode and it is not as bright. Consider calibrating the ISF Modes as u get the higher contrast modes in that mode with 9 point gamma control.

Standard and User are pretty bright/high contrast. Better to use them for Astro. Also would advise for Astro and all, to keep contrast below 20 with User mode. After u pass the 200hrs mark, its more resilient.

Formalin,

For that you'll probably need to know how to decipher the serial numbers blink.gif

Btw - a question posed to you from a different thread, have you decided on the HTP-LX70? Can your BD-320 play pirated $10 DVD9 discs? hmm.gif

Dude, try this:

1) From remote control, press Input 3 button (top row). Input 3-4-5 are HDMI.
2) When you are in Input 3, press HOME MENU.
3) Choose Option
4) Choose HDMI Input
5) Choose Setting=ENABLE, Signal Type = VIDEO, video=AUTO, Audio=AUTO.

It should work.
