QUOTE(cliffang83 @ Feb 28 2010, 10:40 AM) QiW not getting 500 size heli or bigger ar? Already concentrate in planes? I hope to find something within RM100-RM300 range, considering that I will also have to maintain it, perhaps every month. If micro heli are less sensitive to wind, so it does work better outdoors? Sounds good!Micro heli will not be as stable as you think, which it might be more sensitive to control than your coax, but less sensitive to wind... What's your budget then? Repair/maintenance cost should be considered too, just like buying cars.. |

the smaller the heli the more sensitive is is to wind/breeze
coaxials are the same .. but they lack the power to fight the wind compared to single rotors of similar size 100-300 budget .. hmmmmmmmm i am afraid u can only get coaxial helis RTF .. then get an ESKY lama v3/v4 it comes with a simulator cable and free simulator .. u can learn to fly on that on your PC and the included radio .. this should train u abit for single rotors .. hehehehe |

LCD screen is not likely be repairable. The only thing you can do is to replace it, I guess you have to send it back or else you find out the part inside and get it yourself.
Usually the LCD wires are connected with a connector, eventhough there is no connector I don't think it is hard to solder since the wires are not that much. |

i think it would be longer laa .. maybe 2-3 weeks b4 performance starts to degrade depending on how often u fly .. hehehe
but at least u would be able to buy those motors at most RC shops locally |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Feb 28 2010, 11:16 PM) ESKY should last longer than your Syma...I think you can get quite a bargin offer from local R/C forums... For me, i've setup my lama2 to work with WK2601 (Used for 4g6) So, now left of sourcing to Speck my 4G6.. Added on March 1, 2010, 12:33 pmI'm having hard time sourcing for Micro JST connector in M'sia... This post has been edited by cliffang83: Mar 1 2010, 12:33 PM |

i oso dunno where to find micro JST servo connectors ... but u should not have to la ... the walkera servos can take 5v input and they are already micro JST .. all u need is the ar6300 .. or alternatively u can change your servos to normal servo connectors and use normal ar6100 etc rx laaa
but that will all add quite some weight to the 4G6 ... not forgetting u will need the voltage booster as well Added on March 1, 2010, 2:54 pmps .. i am selling off my old dsm2 ar6100 and ar6110e at rm150 each new ar6110e oso i have a couple .. those are rm200 each This post has been edited by QiW: Mar 1 2010, 02:54 PM |

I just asked the Megastation... they still have the micro JST, but don't know if that's the JST i needed...
I need the micro JST for the voltage booster (1 male) + gyro (2 male, 1 female) Regarding the Rx... Reserve the AR6100 for me... can? will confirm with you tomorrow (2/3/2010) |

You let me know lo... I prefer AR6100 because of the plug in position...
I also have AR6110e... anyway... just let me know then.. If not i'll just import the AR6300 + micro JST from OSH then... This post has been edited by cliffang83: Mar 1 2010, 05:05 PM |

would smaller helicopters be lighter and hence longer lasting motor due to lower load?

smaller helis have smaller motors .. so workload should be about the same as big helis
but in bigger helis u have more choices of motors with more power etc etc so the favour of longer lasting motors stays with the bigger ones i am afraid |

I'm agree with QiW...
For bigger heli, we can use bigger lipo for longer fly time and power, as weight is not a big issue as long as you setup the heli correctly.... adding another 50g will not have much effect... But for a smaller heli, weight is a mojor issue which you want to keep it as light as possible... adding another 10g the heli might not lift off the ground... The concept is the same as big car and small car... Big car have big engine and big fuel tank, small car have small engine and small fuel tank, both with full tank will only travel average of 500km... big car with big engine can move 4 ppl easily .. small car with small engine carry 4 ppl super slow already
that explains the power to weight ratio situation if u still wanna stick with coaxials ... then for size+price+parts >>> ESKY |
