Please note that Byond set is belong to Astro, you need to return it if you terminate the service. So, if your byond set is faulty please call Astro CS, they will replace it for you.

Byond decoder tied with specific byond smart card. U cannot freely moving byond smart card to other byond decoder - just like normal astro smart card - it won't work.
U may consider to split byond signal.

I actually doubt about this, why so many byond user having no problem about it. Maybe your problem is isolated case or because of something else. I know it's too early to tell, but kind a doubt it.

i am not sure about the new card but the old card works fine with any decoder. the old card is not tied to the decoder. i have tried it.

ok...got to try that.  but it won't give 5.1 sound right even if my AVR supports it?
*
RCA strictly stereo ... but your AVR might have virtual surround which tries to emulate 5.1

frankly, i am not a fan of hardcore but unrated and category 3 should be okay, like our neighbour down south.

new smart cards( Byond set ) are sim(smart card) locked doh.gif
and infuture the current "old" sets too will be sim locked doh.gif
so we cannot move our smart card as we wish , like 0ne card to view at many different locations
*
that's bad news. but i thought it's the device that is locked (as in the case of phones) and not the sim ... anyway, maybe I just don't understand the technology at work here.

How much monthly for 2nd set? Is they giving you 50% discount?

I think it work this way.
Astro signal only can transmit 1 way, which is downlink only. You cannot transmit back to Measat, unlike mobile phone.
Broadcast signal is encrypted & can be decrypt using Byond decoder s/n & smart card s/n only, which has been set by Astro. So, if your smart card is faulty, they just update their database with your new smart card s/n.  hmm.gif

this system would definitely work but surprising that they haven't implemented already.
