I don't think its wrong bro.. when LCD just come out few years back, I search high and low for LCD that can display pillar box
which is 1:1 pixel to pixel display. And now Astro give you the great 1:1 option... I hope you all can appreaciate.. lolz...
*
astro provided this since v1, nobody complain about the EXISTING of pillarbox....they just complaining of REMOVING the stretch function....Astro doesnt GIVE the pillarbox to byond subscriber as it already exist, they just TOOK AWAY stretch and GIVE zoom. thats what ppl are complaining here....if ur not one of em why bother.... if u like oranges doesnt mean ppl who like apples are stupid or doesnt appreciate oranges...

@ gogo2: you have your own preferences, and they have their own. If say Astro accidentally remove "pillar box" option which i know won't going to happen, maybe you'd be complaining about it too, because you're a purist. Now in reality it happens that the stretch zoom isn't there, so if people wants to complain, let them complain, don't bother come on here and preaching. At the end of the day, if astro decided to give back the stretch option, they'll be happy, and they'll stop complaining, and when they have stop saying "nonsense" (like you said", you'll be happy too, I guess.

All we need to blame is the International Broadcast Standard Committee, why not just standardize to either 16:9 or 4:3, solve everyone problem.

I just got off the phone with them after receiving the same email from this Muhammad Jan Rawi guy.
I told them I want to speak to Rawi or your manager.
To make the long story short I did not get to speak to either one (typical lah)
The CS I spoke to - I asked her do you have Byond at home? Do you think its right to watch with heads and tails all chopped off? I said I want to know if this is a problem you guys are fixing or is it something permanent cause if its permanent then I want to cancel my Byond and go back to the normal package. I told her I can understand they want to broadcast in the correct aspect ratio but why do they give an option which is useless to most people. Do you like to watch with heads and subtitles chopped off?

anyway she will get back to me.....biasa la

I think more people should threaten to change back to normal. vmad.gif

Dunno bro. Maybe soon. Or maybe never.
I use Pillar box because it's nicer mah. No stretched people. I'm the one supposed to ask you
how can u using your LCD to watch in stretched mode? that's blasphemous...
no bro. Stretch mode is not important.
*
gogo2..are u working for astro..?
coz u dont seem to share the feelings for others here..
u only seem to care about yourself and ur Pillar-Box
i wonder how u would have reacted if astro say according to international standard only zoom mode is allowed
No more pillar box..no other options that suits you...
Or u only have zoom mode and stretch..no more of ur beloved pillar box..
How would you feel for paying extra money and getting the best Tv but cannot watch according to ur style?
I know that will not happen
But damn..i know u dont like stretch mode and like pillar box but people have their own viewing style
Ur eyes like pillar box but others like stretch mode..n u say its not important..to u it isnt
For others it is..so let them choose and stop telling people what they should like or should watch..

+1 biggrin.gif

Actually i'm quiet weird because someone here seem to push others to follow their way to watch. I can accept if they want to discuss but please respect other users choices. Maybe to them, its not right to watch in stretch mode but not all human are same.

Everyone have their right to choose their convenience way to watch and I respect everybody choice.

I also don't think international standard is like law that we have strictly to follow it. Hope astro can give stretch option back. notworthy.gif
