Already made my call to CS this morning, will be contacted by their technical person within 4 hours, I'll try my best to persuade them to reinstate the "stretch" feature in TV setting. Just put them back along with "Zoom" and "Pillar box", give us the freedom to choose.

I hate that now I have to change the zoom setting everytime when switching from HD to SD channel vice versa.

And dont tell me to live with large black box either side of my screen, better throw your large 16:9 tv and get that old crt if you want to do so.

For those who can't stand this mistake by Astro, revert to component while watching SD. Hopefully it won't take long for them to fix this. Sigh, if I had waited for the replies on this forum to come up last nite, I would not have let my Byond box go on standby last nite.

Luckily I have a "4:3 zoom" setting on my TV so when I set pillarbox from the byond set it will automatically stretch an SD channel on my screen, but when watching HD channel, I have to change it to "16:9" back on my TV. It's quite frustrating.

What brand is your TV? Mine is LG. Usually if I set it to 16:9, it will stretch all sources, including DVD. But it cannot stretch the pillarbox mode on Byond.

Mine is Panasonic, got about 8 zoom options I think, but it still troublesome for me to change the setting everytime changing from/to SD/HD. The old V1.0 software was way better in this regard.

The zoom setting is called "4:3 Full", not "4:3 Zoom", sorry... just checked via their website, cause I'm at my office right now.

I think you can find supplied RCA cables in your Byond packaging, you can use those or the normal cheap RCA cable will do just fine. Just remember the colour should be the same from your Byond set to your tv. Simple guide is, normal RCA cable should have red, white and yellow coloured connector, just connect yellow to Y, red to Pr, and white to Pb. It's easy coz the Pr connector already coloured Red so you will not be confused.

Usually you can rectify this problem with what is shown (or lack) on the screen, you also can easily find which one of three cable is broken when Y (luma), Red or Blue colour is missing by attaching the cable one by one. Just remember that you need another set of two RCA cables to route your audio if you want to connect via component.
