i oso keep thinking. if it is fake tweeter. why they so borther to solder cable on it. it waste 2 wire and worker time too.
could it be a peizo tweeter covered by plastic infront to mimic normal tweeter out look?
hm..
*
haha... the cable is to make it look like real, anyway i already dismantle the metal part of the tweeter so i will show u all the items i get after i dismantle it.
The SG boss will tell u " it look like peizo tweeter, made like peizo tweeter but it is not peizo tweeter" smile.gif
Beside that, i also find out the IC for the sub is TDA2030 which max RMS is 14w (Correct me if i m wrong), but the RMS stated by SG is 18w for the woofer. How the extra 4w RMS came fr???
I m think a way to take the picture of the IC, anyone can help?

Below a some pic of the dismantle tweeter, hope u guy like it smile.gif

From wikipedia:

"While piezoelectric tweeters are cheap and rugged when compared to typical voice coil tweeters, most are not capable of the same level of linearity and accuracy of reproduction compared to high quality conventional tweeter designs. Piezoelectric tweeters are most commonly found in inexpensive stereo and public address speakers, where cost and reliability are more important than accuracy."

I can confirm this is fake tweeter, because b4 i dismantle the speaker i can't even hear any sound fr the tweeter even i higher up the main volume and treble.

If u planning to visit the computer shop, u can try it out yourself.

This thing call buzzer rather than 'speaker'. Well, only those poor speaker use those unit, really nothing to said, because the power handling is small like mosquito, without any housing, useless...

that's because this type of tweeter needs a LOT of power to get as loud as a normal tweeter would need.
unless you are giving pure sine wave like most digital watches have in their beepers

trust me
they may sound nothing at all but they actually sounded extremely soft till it's inaudible anymore

Yup, especially it connected parallel with the 'real' driver, the signal was drawn by the midrange driver adi, if u only connects the cable to the so called 'tweeter', it will gives some kind of 'mosquito' treble sound...lol...

Anyway, u can get this thing in everywhere, example ur digital watch which got alarm buzz, exactly the same thing...

since it is inaudible for human ear, what is the point of having it there?

Just try it with an external amp, the tweeter will provide a very very low sound like bro coolkwc mention - 'mosquito' treble sound
