Hey Guys,

Wondered if any of you had this same problem using the facebook for android. No matter what I do I cant logon.
But when I use the browser for my N1 it works. Any workarounds?

Need some explanation from the expert here:

I'm currently gone through some readings of how to rooting the N1.....I found out there's Flashing New Recovery Image and Customer ROM but I just couldn't 100% understand what are those things :-(

When do I need to flash new recovery image?

Is the customer ROM just like something containing the OS which have been customize to include new features and applications?

Any pointer here would be much appreciate?

Dude..You can lah..The updates can be flashed..in fact, you have root user, you got even more privilige..

Have you added the account in settings?

Flashing New Recovery Image -> It means flashing a recovery image so you can recover your phone if anything goes wrong.
Custom ROM (Its not customer) -> Its the modded ROM which is better built, faster, and (may) have root access

Yup I did. Whenever I add it goes to the login screen when I login it fails. Checked the password many many times. Browser login works fine

Finally got gps software working. A "ahem" version. Not as good as garmin. Dont plan to buy bcoz it suck big time..but will use it for the moment until a better software comes along

Can I know what is the average Internet connection speed you guys have for your N1? not wifi, is from yr ISP..

then can I know if u r under HSDPA covered your logo will still 3G or 3.5G or H ??


I upgraded mine to celcom 3.6mbps...
but I never have speed more than 1.0mbps..always 11x~16x..sometimes even worse at 60kbps only.. the fastest i get is 600kbps..

So hope they can copy iPhone Facebook application!! Hahahaha

Any widget/app to serve as a standby/lockscreen button instead of pressing the power button? I don't loike to press the power button every time when i want to put the phone into standby, the button seems fragile T.T

Remember, not all places in Cecom3G support up to 3.6Mbps. The fastest ever I had is about 3Mbps in Penang and KLCC with my other phones few years ago . The fastest I got with N1 is 2Mbps near MidValley. Other places are around 250kBs-1.2Mbps. Even during my commuting in KTM Komuter, I can get up to 1Mbps but most of the time is just about 60kbps-250kbps. But my friend said, he got the 3.6Mpbs in Kelantan

Also, the speed depends on the network load too.

I tested my it in many places when my fren drives me,
or I drive.. I tested in KL area, Cheras area, KL area I
tested in Sg.wang area to jln Ipoh area. still never can
more than 1.0mbps..

when I do the test speed I use taskkill to close all apps,
make sure the connection only targetted to my speedtest.net

FYI, you can use Palringo for your facebook chat, I have try and found this is the best facebook chat working for N1

As for the recovery image, is that means that I can create my own image for later recovery purpose?

Where are you testing this ? celcom have a big coverage but the performance at some location is really bad ( you can check the many celcom 3g/broadband complain in lowyat's forum ).

When i click on messaging then new message then in the "to" box, how come my contacts dont automatically appear inside? Instead, my facebook contacts appear there instead.

Now i have to individually text message my friends because of this
