Hi All,

Just got my N1 and I'm new to Android......I have a few questions and hope someone can enlighten me:

1) Can we do grouping on contact? For example, I want to create a group call "Family" and group all my family members under this group, then I can assign Ringtone or send SMS to this group.

2) There's no pre-install application that can open/edit MS Word, Excel or even Text file, righ? If to download, any recommendation?

3) Is there a log information for data usage? I want to know what is the 3G data usage so far especially I'm not on unlimited plan? I can't find it.......any recommendation application to download?

4) There's no pre-install video player.......any recoomendation application to download?

Overall, N1 is very nice and still exploring it :-)

1. Yes..u can group your contacts..do more survey..click around

2. Yes..there is quick office installed..viewing but no editting..again..play more with ur phone?

4. There is built-in. Just put a video file n u will see it appear at gallery

i don't think nexus one has different ROM for different country right since all nexus one phones are shipped from US eventhough you order it from HK, UK or SG...
basically all nexus one phones originally comes from US

Actually N1 are manufactured in HTC Taiwan. So it is made in Taiwan and from Taiwan. Correct me if I am wrong.

tried using the Superboot boot image with himem from modaco , but I can't use the WiFi . It always is obtaining IP address and becomes unsuccessful . Strange

in WM contacts option, i can store phone number such as home, work 2, others, car, assistant, assistant phone number. I wonder if nexus one can have so many phone number storing option?

I use this app call NetCounter. Very clear representation of data transmission of wifi and cellular.

Added on February 7, 2010, 10:32 amYes, it has ability for u to add customize category. Perhaps call it like 'secondary hp' or 'skype id' for example on top of the usual phone/fax/email categories.

I am having some serious issue with my phone....today i took a picture...and i found out no matter how i adjust ....there is a light pink spot in the middle of the picture even i try vdeom recording also same !!!!.....anyone else encountering ths problem?

I Still can't find how to group contact la :-( I'm talking ant grouping in phone, not from Google mail. Anyone can help?

Regarding the data usage, I don't think Android got this function.......I did download 3G watch dog for this purpose, not too bad :-)

This is a common issue. Its a bug in N1. I do believe it was fixed in the recent update though. Are you using Android 2.1update-1 ?

Group contact..One lacking feature..Nice find..

I sync from gmail, contained group contacts and after synced to my n1.
it shows the group name as a contact name in your contact list, then when u click in to see, there are actually a list of numbers which are suppose in my group list. BUt the problem is I cant search these numbers individually in contact list, I must come into this particular contact then only I can see the list.

for example the group is "abc" and inside got a1,b1,c1,d1..
u cant see those a1 b1 c1 d1 in your contact list..you must go into "abc" then only u can see a1 b1 c1 d1..and when d1 called u, u cant see d1 's name appears on screen, it appeared as "abc"...

Anyone here using dolphin browse? Tried to sync my Chrome bookmarks but have no luck.

I already sync my Chrome bookmark into my Google account but just can't sync it to dolphin. Any idea how this wholething work?
