Just a passing thought about the RM10K splashed and splurged for travelling .....

Years ago, when the Ringgit was less weak, travelling was a bit easier .... I remember someone went to China whne RM1 = RMB3.3 ...... Now? rolleyes.gif

For those who are able, what is RM10K .... or even RM100K ?

For the average Joe like yours truly, it is another silly question altogther.

Different umbrella, different handle.

No matter where you go, either on Business Class or AA or ETS or Rapid Bus, Bon Voyage ..... for on the ability to be on the move is a blessing.

Some smart alec once said, it is not the destination, it is the destination that counts .... i hope he agrees with me to disagree biggrin.gif

I arrived at JFK airport and leave USA via LAX airport. I took Southwest airlines from La Guardia airport to San Franchisco airport (SFO). NYC really got plenty of place to enjoy!!

You can walk around Central Park, visit Rockafella centre, Empire State of Building, visit Statue of Liberty, Times Square, 911 memorial site, Brooklyn bridge and etc. If you interested to visit musuem, u can visit Museum of arts, museum of sex (if you open minded), madam tussaud wax museum and etc.

For food, try burger at shake shack once in a lifetime! Restaurants are everywhere, depending on your budget. I was lucky enough that I have free dinner bcos I have my aunt staying at Brooklyn haha.

If you want to visit Niagara Falls, you can take amtrak from Penn Station and stop at Buffalo station. However, the duration can be 11 hours journey. Alternatively, you can take greyhound bus to Niagara Fall bus station which is 10-15 mins from Niagara Falls.

Hope my opinion helps. Thank you

10k. It depends on how you wanna spend and what you wanna see. You can go places with it or you can choose to finish that amount in 1 city.

Traveling around MY is fine as it's cheap. But what about going to US or UK or Japan and other countries. Those are expensive.

So, are you willing to spend 10k (for you and your partner) to go traveling? Because that 10k is for airplane ticket, hotel lodging, traveling fees, tickets and food only. That means 10k just gone like that.

For some people it is worth it but for some you get nothing (tangible) in the end.

Discuss....

if the 10k is 1% of your savings why not?

this question is irrelevant unless you state how many percent that 10k is to your saving.

I spent 20k for my family (2 adults 2 kids) to let them feel the first snow of 2016 in Hokkaido.

The kids were impressed and they still recall the trip. To me it is totally worth the price.

Depends on your budget though. I stayed at Coney Island which is near Brighton beach because it was USD25 per night for shared room and it is few steps away from Brighton beach station. The subway fare is fixed which is USD2.75 per way, I purchased for 7-day pass which is unlimited ride. However, it is time consuming because the journey to manhattan took 45mins for express train or 1.5 hr for normal train.

That is a good decision. Most people spend a lot to travel around the world but when u ask them where have they been in Malaysia most of them can only answer Melaka, Penang and Ipoh.

10k for month backpacking in Malaysia??? thats is alot of money. I just came back from UK trip for 10 day and the total money I spend is only 8k plus include air ticket, car rental (5days) and accommodation, food and expenses. I dont mind to spend 10k for an over sea trip but Malaysia it self for 10k is .......abit too much.

would spend 10k for overseas but not for local, as if it should be free instead laugh.gif

All places have their own unique. They have their specialities.
For me I like go manila better than Tokyo. Go ASEAN I can enjoy their cultures food many times than go 1x in japan.
