My mindset is Spend reasonably and Earn it back.
10K is reasonable depending on individual.
I am pretty fine with it as I don't travel a lot but few times a year.
Anyway hotel always cost a bomb to me :/

Would you spend RM10k to travel locally? 3 nights for me and the family at Club Med is already almost 10k.

I would rather spend RM10k to USA or Europe trip. I stayed in USA for 5 months under work and travel programme and it is the best experience and exposure ever!! I spent around USD2.7k to NYC,san francisco,LA,san diego, las vegas and grand canyon. smile.gif

This year i went on holiday streak cause i changed my job and have 4 month holiday, bringing my mom along towards few trip and spend quite a good amount of money

Australia (Darwin to Adelaide) - together with other relative, driving campervan all along the whole trip. Total 21 days, spend of total 21k for me and my mom

Japan (Kansai area) - with my mom only, staying for 11 days, only 9k spending for 2 person

Singapore - lone trip, going for a short trip to find my fren

Thailand (Phucket + Krabi) - went with my whole family (brother family + sister family + mom) for 4d3n, good time spending with all the kids

Funny how I just decided to spend rm10-12k on my trip to Europe in March and I saw this thread.

Actually my return flight tickets from San Jose - Kuala Lumpur is already paid by my company. I just gotta top up about 3.7k for tickets. Rest of the money im gonna spend on hotels, food and shopping tongue.gif

Itinerary

1) San Jose,Costa Rica - Newcastle, UK (3D 2N)
Just 3D 2N here to watch my fav football team. Its been a dream of mine since I was 8 to set foot in the stadium to watch a match and im so freaking excited its gonna come true.

2) Newcastle, UK - Amsterdam, Netherlands (6D 5N)
First time my family is going to Europe so they chose NL as I worked there for 6months before going to Costa Rica. Will be nice to show them around

3) Amsterdam, Netherlands - Vienna, Austria (5D 4N)
Mum was really eager to go here compared to Paris or Brussels which she said was too mainstream. Lol

10K mark nowadays really like nothing... if u decide travel out of Asia. It can be easily reach that point.

But if u put 25K, now that's something...

RM10k is not even enough for some countries like Japan and European countries....and I don't mind to spend to get that travelling experience...

And no, I won't stay at hostel dormitory either...
