I dont mind to spend RM10k to travel as it helps me to widen my mind and change my perspective.

I traveled to USA 4 years ago, until now it is still in my mind. If I have chance to visit again, I will smile.gif

You can check kayak.com or skyscanner. Personally I prefer kayak.com because it is simple and straight to the point. I managed to get return flight ticket at RM4,200 back in 2013 (normally RM4.5k at least) For flights to New york city, winter tickets is the cheapest because the chances of getting flight delayed is high. tongue.gif

I had travelled east coast and west coast. Personally I prefer east coast because of the environment and the people and the facilities!! If i have a chance to visit USA, NYC will be my list haha.

I arrived at JFK airport and leave USA via LAX airport. I took Southwest airlines from La Guardia airport to San Franchisco airport (SFO). NYC really got plenty of place to enjoy!!

You can walk around Central Park, visit Rockafella centre, Empire State of Building, visit Statue of Liberty, Times Square, 911 memorial site, Brooklyn bridge and etc. If you interested to visit musuem, u can visit Museum of arts, museum of sex (if you open minded), madam tussaud wax museum and etc.

For food, try burger at shake shack once in a lifetime! Restaurants are everywhere, depending on your budget. I was lucky enough that I have free dinner bcos I have my aunt staying at Brooklyn haha.

If you want to visit Niagara Falls, you can take amtrak from Penn Station and stop at Buffalo station. However, the duration can be 11 hours journey. Alternatively, you can take greyhound bus to Niagara Fall bus station which is 10-15 mins from Niagara Falls.

Hope my opinion helps. Thank you

For Travel within NYC, use public transport or rent a car? Wow, 11 hours just for waterfalls... worth it? I know the answer: those who have gone will say " worth it!!" smile.gif

Of course public transport! Their subway is operate 24 hours, so no worries. Rent a car only if you go for group roadtrip like Niagara Falls . Never rent a car and drive within NYC because the parking can make u broke!

I saw the parking in manhattan costs USD1.50 for every 15mins. This shows how expensive the parking.

24 hours subway? Great! So far have not come across subway 24 hours. Did you go to Niagara Falls and later Grand Canyon? How about Vegas? I thought Vegas is a must for me but not sure about the other 2 cause of the long travel time!

new yorkers will say using a car within the city is pointless, its jam everywhere
a bicycle or skateboard is a way better option
