i can confirm the news too.

Microsoft gives HTC users the finger!

...and i just got the HD2 with that option in mind. but i'm sure HTC will think of something (or some genius out there will cook something up).

At last a free and reliable video player for HD2. TCPMP_netDrg V2.

Wow... This is great. Just tried it, and it's able to playback mpeg4, which is great news. But I notice that its performance is slightly lower than core player. Benchmark score is less than core player.

Boot the phone to SPL (red green blue white screen), attach USB and wait until the word "USB" appear. Then run the official ROM .exe file to flash from USB.

it is different from: "connect to active sync and run official rom .exe file"?

i read somewhere after hspl is done, hspl will protect us from bad usb flash, and the article saying usb flash only flash rom part...

the article: http://labelfree.co.uk/archives/3

i'm quite worry about the warranty thing rite now as my SD card disappear sometimes and soft reset don't help unless i remove the card and insert again for a few times, such thing already happen 4 times since purchase (6 Dec 2009).

SD card disappearing is not the Device problem, it is SD card problem. You better backup the SC Card to your PC before it disappears permanently. Format your SD Card and restore. Problem resolved:)
When you flash it is advisable to remove the SD Card.

The flashing setup sequence is different. The method I just mentioned does not really need a working ROM / OS in the phone. "Connect to ActiveSync" can only be triggered from a usable OS, right? smile.gif However, the flashing by running the .exe file is the same anyway.

If you used SSPL, or CustomRUU.exe to flash via USB, yes it only flash a part of the .nbh. But running official .exe definitely flash the whole thing.

SD Card can turn bad / defected / damaged on this phone (and previous Touch HD) because the way WM6.x works is polling a whole lot from SD Card. mad.gif
SDCard life span is really short... Maybe it's about time for you to turn in your SD Card for RMA. blink.gif

I think most SD card comes with lifetime warranty. But need to send to manufacturer/distributor for that SD card. Other shop probably will do RMA at a price.

Anyway, when WinMo 7 is launched, I doubt there are hardly a dozen of application for it, since its OS is totally different than existing WinMo. It's going to take a least few months before new app is available. By then, time to move on also... wink.gif

I think you confuse with Windows Mobile 7 and Windows 7. laugh.gif

By the way, Microsoft actually used HD2 as a test platform for WinMo 7. drool.gif Which means HD2 is capable of running WinMo 7. Only the performance of WinMo 7 on HD2 was not release.

the latest one is regarding to the number of buttons on hd2 doesn't meet the requirements of wp7s brows.gif

i think we shouldn't use "wm7", as wm7 was terminated 18months ago.

i'm still using winxp on my desktop although win7 is out.

hey hey ! i tryed out TravellingWave VoicePredict on my HD2 but it seemed very incompatible as hang and not intergrate into devices sip
anyway i get a mail from them today (below)
May be a while befor we get to experince this on our HD2.

...w.travellingwave.com/index.htm

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Could you please tell us a little more about what happens when you load the app on your HD2? A few other people seem to have a similar problem on that device, and since it is not yet available in US (yet) we can't get our hands on one to test with.

Thanks!

i just try HTC HD Mini lock screen app but it didnt show up anywhere and even after soft resetting twice no difference .
Plus it made my Resco File Explorer icon and some others in the menu list >show very pale colour.
so i un-install and all apps show as it was before.
Is there something i did wrong or is it a setting iv in one of the other tweaking tools on my device blocking it from working?
