QUOTE This update for HTC HD2 messaging lets you reach out to your friends and family with instant notifications. Keeping in touch has always been very important, and this update delivers just that: fast and reliable SMS messaging. From the explanation looks like it fixed the SMS delivery bugs. Downloading and will apply immediately... This post has been edited by volcane: Jan 14 2010, 07:34 PM

QUOTE(cyclone2k1 @ Jan 14 2010, 10:11 PM) i migrated from the old WinMo 2003. One thing that i miss the most comparing to the new HD2 is the lack of a clock on the top start bar. Running programs or whatever, i can lose track of the time. Any way to get the time on the start bar? go Settings -> All Settings -> Clock & Alarm. Under the more tab check the Show Clock on Taskbar. Added on January 14, 2010, 10:49 pmQUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 14 2010, 08:28 PM) Added on January 14, 2010, 8:38 pmWhen you run the exe file on your phone - after is complete it will softrest. This hotfix the application type is slightly longer than normal and it will overwrite the older hotfix ( if you have applied). While the hotfix is being applied sametime you can do other tasks on the phone. It will prompt you to softrest when complete It auto soft reset by itself, that why I am checking does anyone having the same issue. By right should be able to reapply the hotfix, anyhow now try downloading from another server and try again. This post has been edited by volcane: Jan 14 2010, 10:49 PM

Looks like I bump into error during the update Now can't reinstall the hotfix. Error message "This hotfix is not compatible with your device" . Looks like time for me to take this opportunities to flash custom ROM. I dig deeper and check the setup xml file, found followings; CODE <parm name="NoUninstall" value="1" /> This explain why UnInstall not allowed. Go further down, found registry entry CODE <characteristic type="HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\Hotfix"> <parm name="Messaging_Client_Version" value="20100112-00" datatype="string" /> </characteristic>
Anyone haven't apply the 8007 hot fix, what is your value? Apparently the setup did finished, but my experience was difference from yours. Anyone know how to hack the setup.xml and allow reinstall? This post has been edited by volcane: Jan 14 2010, 11:47 PM

Flashing this will not cause loss of data. Check v1 for details. BTW the new hot fix improves the sms speed tremendously, but did not solve the sms stuck at outbox issue. Still experience stuck sms this morning.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jan 15 2010, 10:42 AM) My conclusion is probably due to SIM card as I change my Celcom sim card 2 days before I got my HD . I was having some erractic data download issues on my TP2 with it - my card was only a year old ( got it new on my Blackberry account). The Celcom guy told me than the new card issued to me was a brand new type with better and improved data services ; anyway since is free I give him the benefit of the doubt So maybe perhaps changing your simcard will resolve. okie, let wait and see does changing the SIM solve the SMS stuck issue. I am changing telco next month.... switching to DiGi.... Still stick to Official ROM because need the Chinese Input (although hardly used). BTW if I used Topix can view site in Chinese?

Last time using Vista's Window Mobile Device Center no problem.. Help... Possible due to your firewall. Try this; In HD2, Settings -> Others -> USB to PC. Uncheck the Enable faster data sync. Hope this help.

Added on February 10, 2010, 7:36 pmi am lying at bed while chatting .. haha .. so this is the cause ? if you check user manual pg.59 To use the speakerphonePlacing your phone face down automatically turns on the speakerphone. To turn the speakerphone off, place your phone face up. I don't know is there a registry hack which can turn off this feature, meantime do not roll on your bed while chatting... or while you roll make sure the phone face up

QUOTE(tunasandwich @ Feb 11 2010, 12:32 PM) anyone else have this problem as well? No such problem. Using 1.66 original ROM. Added on February 11, 2010, 12:48 pmQUOTE(Aurora @ Feb 11 2010, 09:05 AM) This, i'm totally over it, if it's going to happen. But not sure though if garmin/papago would want to enter android market. I see a lot of other s/w developers have yet to enter the market. The whole street is filled with iphone user, even accessories for iphone have surpass nokia. Apple put too much constraint on their os. Power user will definitely stick to winmo. I believe most iphone users are looking for a reason to jump ship, usable gps s/w and multitask! Speaking of which, I'm listening to music while typing this. A while ago was replying text sms, without having to quit my browser, with half of the post above. Occasionally quit to main screen to change songs tracks. Basic day-to-day multitask. I'm also using my hd2 as broadband modem:) PaPaGO X5 already available for Android. Here another reason for you to stick to HTC WinMo, someone in XDA managed to triple boot. Android, BB and WinMo. Though not in HD2 yet This post has been edited by volcane: Feb 11 2010, 12:48 PM

QUOTE(derict @ Feb 14 2010, 04:27 AM) I have one Q ...Is there a way to create more profile in HD2 ?? I'm used to WINMO5 where u can have multiple profile for normal, outdoor, meeting, etc .... then all with different ringtone, volume, vibrate ... you need to use third parties software like G-Profiler, PhoneWeaver and etc.

QUOTE(derict @ Feb 15 2010, 02:03 AM) hi volcane, which one will you recommend ??? Personally I used PhoneWeaver. 2nd choice will be G-Profile. I prefer PhoneWeaver because light on memory. The only reason I don't used G-Profile are it can't have ring + vibrate set at the same time, otherwise it has very nice features like activate profile based on cell tower.
