The unipack main purpose is open some exclusive priviledge and discount for student. Uni never get a cent for each of their student subscribe to Streamyx UniPack.

guys, as for the 1 month period of temporary no Internet usage upon applying the Cool-Uni-Pack...
the booth promoter had taught me a solution for it...
so, u guys help me to verify is it working for the solution...??

1) go to apply another new fixed line for the new Cool-Uni-Pack streamyx
2) let the TM/Streamyx people settle with the new fixed line for new Cool-Uni-Pack streamyx (1 month)
3) u gotta pay:
-RM75 deposit (REFUNDABLE)
-RM10 duty stamp
-RM30 new wiring installation fee of new fixed line
4) while the TM/Streamyx people settle with the new fixed line for new Cool-Uni-Pack streamyx (1 month), u still can enjoy ur existing Internet...
5) after the process for Cool-Uni-Pack has done, u can cut-off ur existing Streamyx line, switch to Cool-Uni-Pack and continue ur Internet...

so guys, is the solution above works... ??

yes it works
if you are lucky enough, ur new line and new streamyx package can be successfuly installed and activated within few days. (fastest 4 days i think)
then u can straight away terminate ur streamyx and existing line.
and make sure ur area got streamyx port available be4 applying new line

btw guys, i wanna maintain/keep my exsting fixed home line number (telephone number) unchanged, is it possible??
becoz if changed to new telephone, it will be troublesome... so, i wanna maintain it...

u can keep it if u dont want terminate, u ll ended up with two numbers. so u hv to pay rm26 for the old line. u can dont use the new number, straight away connect to the modem. sounds silly eh? no free lunch one mah.

Windows 7 Ultimate on the netbook will perform perfectly fine coz basically, it really have the same specs like my Dell Mini 9. Intel Atom 1.6Ghz, and 1GB RAM. Plus, the HP Mini is a bit more powerful since they're using Atom N280 while my Dell Mini 9 uses Atom N270. Try first, then see if it suits you. I never experienced compatibility issues coz I use standard apps like Opera, Firefox, Winamp, VLC, Gom, uTorrent, Office '07, YM!, Kaspersky, Google Earth, IDM, WinRAR, Picasa and InDesign etc.. 7 pwned XP n Vista.. =P

Currently my situation is like this:
- Account under sister's name. She's working now
- Rm66/month 512kbps package
- Been using since 2006

I heard got to terminate line for 30 days, then only can apply this package. But my dad needs to use internet worh.

Can do it this way? :
- Dont want terminate sis's account first.
- Register another new streamyx acc under my name, but still using same Telephone line with my sis's account.
- Will still be using my sis's account while waiting mine to be activated.
- When mine is ready, straight away terminate my sis one.

Cuz i dun mind paying one month extra. And..really cant cut off for a month ler.
Dad's business need it lerr.

Is it possible?

yeap..u can do it like that...BUT provided that there is an extra port at ur area so that u can apply for an extra line...the amount tat u are expected to pay is RM135.00(85 upfront, 50 to the contractor tat goes to ur place to fix it)

Anyway, I got probs with my line not supporting 4Mbps or so the technician said. He need sometime to set the jumper whatever bla bla bla but I really need to know whether this will result me getting the netbook late?

If I get a new fixed line plus streamyx 4M, I only need to pay RM50 installation fees +RM75 ( refundable deposit ) upfront and RM100 every month.

Do I need to pay any more fees monthly if I used the fixed line as my streamyx line other than RM100 per month?

Supposingly no.. And I heard it's not RM100 anymore. It's RM88 now. And someone knowledgeable pls answer my question.

the reason I need to know about the miscellaneous because my dad doesnt want to cancel the old fixed line and the 30 days waiting game.

I decide to get the extra line but not willing to pay more than RM100/RM88 for this.

this means...Rm10-stamp fee, Rm75 deposit for ur phone line, Rm50.00 for the contractor to do wiring and stuff....

How if... I want to use my name to apply for my home in Bintulu, Sarawak?? Now studying in PJ. Is it possible... i send the application somewhere in KL area then let them install at bintulu? Haha
