Hi guys, I will be going to Adelaide next month to study in UniSA City East Campus. So I'd like to ask that if anyone here can provide me some information about the accommodation around that area please? Thanks!

Try this link: http://www.unisa.edu.au/accommodation/stud...ccomm/apart.asp

Most of them are walking distance to UniSA city campuses. Hope it helps.

Sunnybank is a place where you can find a lot of Asian Cuisine. It's about 10-15 minutes from the city.
Don't really have a mamak place to chill in Brisbane.
If you are looking for a yumcha session with your friend at night, you can go to chinatown (the valley) near the city. there's a restaurant open till 2am.

yeah campus accomodation is always pricey. i guess its a way to make friends in the uni. i stayed off campus my entire uni years. my favorite place i stayed in was around 1300sq. ft. apartment on toorak road which cost a total of AUS$1500 (AUD$750/person) inclusive of electricity and some nice and speedy internet. so if you have time and a friend thats willin to share then go get your own place man. the only thing is you gotta go find furniture. hehehe. i got all my furniture from my cousins in melbourne so it was free icon_idea.gif hahaha. but you can find stuff from the salvation army and stuff like that.

Well, would you prefer hitting the pavement in a city that you do not know how to get around with, visiting place after place, trying to visit an accommodation at the whim and fancy of the rental agent, desperately trying to find a place before classes start?

Or would you like to have a place all set and ready on your arrival? As if having to deal with cultural shock and a new environment isn't hard enough?

I for one, would have gladly cekik'ed my darah if it meant I didn't start my time in Australia looking at 15 places, and all of them turned me down. If I just had 1 semester in a student accommodation college, I would have had a much better start to my degree.

That said, I have to agree that it is not easy getting on-campus accommodation. But if you can get it, it is worth it.

it happens in cycles........there was an economic downturn last year, and policies were set in place which will now affect graduates who wants to stay on.....

so what are they doing to you?.....

I managed to get on campus accommodation at monash at the hall of residences without en suite and i'm not sure where you got the figure of AUD 700+ because mine is below AUD 700 and that is not including internet. Internet is only AUD 365 per year so add that to the rent and it just touches AUD 700. of course this is not including food.

and of course they cekik our darah la. -__- we are international students, that is how they earn money off us. and like haya said, I would rather have a peace of mind knowing that I will have a place to stay once I arrive..
