Im applying for adsl2 which is available in my area but telstra said that my current service number is not cooper thats why i cant get any adsl services..
im trying to apply with AAnet..
this is what they said why i was rejected..
"DSL request failed - Reason Given: Incompatible or Unavailable Unable To Complete Notes: DSL cannot be provisioned on this service"
any idea?

you must be on a Remote Integrated Multiplexer (RIM), if so, you can only get connection speed up to 8mbit or sometimes worst, capped at 3~3.5mbit, that sucks :|

try each ISPs' Network Coverage Checker to confirm that & before applying.

explanation from AAnet was my home phoneline have this pair gain line..
it must be removed first before i can get the adsl2+..
i've rang telstra and told them to make a transposition to my line and the said it might can or might not possible because they have to change all the phone cable near my area or something like that...
damned..the only isp that i can use now is bigpond which is darnnn expensive..
sighhhhhhhh...

If you are on Pair Gain, then yes, unfortunately ADSL2+ is not available in your area.

Don't go for Bigpond, it's only there to rip people off. There are many good ISPs around with affordable pricing, namely TPG, Exetel, Internode, Westnet, Netspace etc. I'm currently with Exetel as i believe they are the best priced ISP in Australia. If you have any question just PM me, i'll gladly help you out.

Have been Exetel customer for nearly 2 years. Best valued ISP in my opinion. TPG looks good when you first see their plans but after taking into account their offpeak period starts from 2am to 8am it is no match for Exetel (12am-12pm). I'm surprised why so many people are unaware of their existence. Perhaps that's because they didn't spend much money on designing their website.

Read the bloody front page before expecting to be spoon-fed:
QUOTE
LYN members will not give advice on which ISP to go for, through if we are on the ISP you are interested in we may provide feedback. However, do NOT go near Dodo internet. No one has ever had a good word about them.

As for Malaysia's HSBB project, the fact it had data limits puts it on par with Australia. I know quota is a evil word in Malaysia, but if HSBB is anything like the wonderful ADSL 2+ I get here I'll be happy (Malaysian internet is Internet hell)

As for Bigpond, while they are probably the worst value for money, I have to admit their network is really fast and stable. Sure, data allowance is small, but while you're in the allowance is was one of the best ISP's I've been with network/speed/latency wise.

And its not much point recommending ISP's here anyway since a)few ISP's have nationwide ADSL 2+ b) Not all ISP's are available in your area c) Port availability varies by suburb (you have no idea how many people are on the waiting list for TPG in Sunnybank)

Are you looking for brand new furniture? If you're not, try Monash Marketplace. There are some pretty good deals to be found there.
