I own Platinum CCs because they are all FOC. If the AFs are non-waivable, I don't mind to downgrade my cards to Classic.
Platinum have more privilege than a classic... Credit Card v9, RM50 GST dilemma

What he said it's true if you utilize the ongoing privileges; otherwise, it's just another card with higher credit limit.

QUOTE(krylicius @ Apr 11 2010, 01:58 PM) I don't get what you meant. But you sounded desperate for a Platinum card. For me, Platinum cc is still a card anyway. In fact, I had cancelled some Platinum cards last year. I only evaluate the benefits offered by cards, regardless of what kind of cards. Currently, I only own Alliance VISA Platinum, Amex Gold cc and SCB JustOne MC. The latter two are not Platinum cards though. I am even planning to terminate my Alliance Platinum if I travel less. This post has been edited by winner: Apr 11 2010, 02:10 PM |

QUOTE(krylicius @ Apr 11 2010, 01:12 PM) Agree to what the folks here are saying. If you use it then OK ... otherwise it is just a piece of plastic. And it is an excuse for the bank to charge you more AF. I just can't understand the fascination with Gold and Plat cards. Back then we had to EARN it, PERIOD. No such thing as asking/demanding the bank to upgrade the existing card. Now ... everyone can get a Plat/Gold card. So ... does the value / prestige really exist if everyone carries one ? QUOTE(WildChai @ Apr 11 2010, 12:28 AM) A quick question....for instance, If I have RM4000 outstanding in my cc, and I paid RM6000. Can the excess RM2000 debit can be withdrawn as cash? Any penalty or charges incurred? If you have a savings account with the credit card issuer (ie CIMB savings a/c and CIMB credit card), then you call the card issuer, tell them to transfer the credit balance into your savings account. This usually take 2 working days. You will see the money in your savings account on the 3rd working day. Usually no fee charged.thanks |

QUOTE(GHz @ Apr 11 2010, 09:58 PM) But you need to earn 240k per year or 180k for DA. Or simply an obese account with CIMB Group will do. |

I called the bank to clarify about my question. No charges or interest are incurred, all I need to do is call them to make the transfer to my savings account. And within a week, the money can be withdrawn.
I usually pay more than I owe...don't have time nor net connection to check my statements. haha. |
