QUOTE(xIceLemonTeax @ Jan 17 2010, 08:50 AM) ampang waterfront branch. i saw there is still 2 more forte (black n silver) while picking up the car. yup, coz they still have stock.i just wondering if i should have gotten the KIA gift or not? since mine is still CBU. and i believe it is 1 of the 500 for the 1st batch. p/s if someone want to buy car there, pm me. i can recommend you n we can share the commission lorr. Added on January 17, 2010, 8:51 am mine is of course the SX. not sure about the other 2 though. seems HQ is not controlling the last stock, branch can buy them as many as they want. thats why some claim must wait 3 months and some claim can get within a week. ampang branch is an exception here. |

QUOTE(4te @ Jan 17 2010, 12:06 AM) Today did my 1000km service at JnS SC (Sungai Pinang - Penang) and the following is the damage : Can i know,Oil Filter - RM16.20 Drain Plug Washer - RM2.00 Windscreen washer cleaner - RM10 ZIC QX Fully Sync Oil (Made in Korea) - RM188 (Recommended by the boss and for more info if you are wondering what brand is this http://www.skzic.com/eng/user/products/new_product_01.asp ) Total - RM216.20 The service provided by the SC is very good and highly recommended if you are from Penang. I reported that everytime when i close the back door (i am inside), i can hear a sound in the booth ... they checked and found the root cause, which is a vent on the left side of the booth to release the air pressure when someone close or slam the door, wow just found an additional feature not in the manual I met up with whiteforte and also Lucas from FB (his White Forte really nice We should organise a TT for Penang Forte Kaki fully synthetic may last for another 10000km service, but the oil filter, would it be last that long? |

QUOTE(4te @ Jan 17 2010, 01:12 AM) Bro, as for item 3, the insulation must be perfectly done to avoid any condensation in the insulation. If it is not nicely done and there is condensation between the pipe and insulation, then it might be bad for the pipe in the long term. I think if the aircon is cold enough for you, better dont do anything and let the Sg owners test for 1-2yrs and if nothing happens to the pipe, then we can do it. Also from the same SG forum :Initially, I was thinking of DIY using the good quality insulation tape for aircon pipe to ensure that no gap whatsoever between the pipe and insulation, but ater looking at the pipe, its very difficult to do it with the limited space and came across this discussion among the Sg members http://www.ceratoforte.sg/general-discussi...ighlight=aircon ... so decided to drop this mod and wait and see. But, so far i am happy with the aircon and 24c cold enough for me QUOTE Then again. If i remember my chemistry correctly. When aluminium react with water it will corrode to form aluminium oxide. And it shouldn't deteriorate the piping any further, unlike iron. Where if they rust, they corrode till the core. Extract from website: Aluminium's corrosion resistance Untreated aluminium has very good corrosion resistance in most environments. This is primarily because aluminium spontaneously forms a thin but effective oxide layer that prevents further oxidation. Aluminium oxide is impermeable and, unlike the oxide layers on many other metals, it adheres strongly to the parent metal. If damaged mechanically, aluminium's oxide layer repairs itself immediately. This oxide layer is one of the main reasons for aluminium's good corrosion properties. The layer is stable in the general pH range 4 – 9. In strongly acid or alkaline environments, aluminium normally corrodes relatively rapidly. |

QUOTE(ssek76 @ Jan 17 2010, 10:49 AM) Wondering if we can change the tyre to 205/55 or 65 R17 in future with minimum car "quality" impact? noticed that 205/55 or 65 is much cheaper than current 215/45. can refer to this link and the calculator that comes with it. not recommended to change to higher profile tyre but maintain rim size.http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg4.html the best choice would be 205/55R16 but then again need to change rim altogether... |

Recieved a call from Klang SA yesterday to inform me the price for Forte will increae RM3k in coming few days. He ask me to pay a booking 1st to stick with current price before they received the formal memo from Naza.
Just wonder how reliable words from his mouth, but no point for him to tell me a lie for this also. Any one have any news regarding this? |

If you really wanted to buy why so concern about future price increase. Just put your 1K deposit faster. Longer you wait longer you will get the car. |

When i got my car, i will use it as it is for about a month or two & will monitor the aircond compressor's on/off behavior (duration) at a certain temperature setting as a controlled value. then i will experimenting my car with the aircond piping insulation DIY & monitor again the post-DIY on/off behavior of the compressor at the same temperature setting. After the insulation, if the compressor operating duration is less than before the insulation is been done, i can safely says that the compressor's load now is lesser at the same setting temperature & vice versa. Less load on compressor (at the same temperature setting) can be translated to more efficient aircond = less load to the engine (due to compressor operating duration is lesser) = good gas mileage right? correct me if i'm wrong Now another concern is the after effect.. probably 4te is right check out how are they doing after 2 years.... Cannot wait to do the experimentlah..hehe. Some of the SG Forte owners already did the aircond piping insulation almost 7 month now with no bad feedback whatsoever except stating that their car aircond now perform significantly better. 1 guy also said that he did this to his Aveo since 2005. The Aveo aircond working more efficiently up to the point when he traded in the car for the Forte |
