eh why kia design such that lock?
although kid not sit in the front, but adult also can accidentally open the door...
do u read the manual carefully on how to avoid the door open from inside?
*
actually, if you read the manual, the lock mechanism can be altered one.
i've read them. it states that we can request to alter them at service center. but not sure the one that we're talking about can be done or not.

i dont have the manual with me right now.. sad.gif

Added on January 16, 2010, 9:59 pmok.. got this from Canada online manual. its the same with Malaysia one.
looks like option to lock co-pilot door is not feasible..

An authorized KIA dealer can activate
or deactivate some auto door lock/
unlock features as follows;
• Auto door unlock by using the driver's
door lock button
• Auto door lock/unlock by shifting the
transaxle shift lever out of P (Park) or
into P (Park)
• Auto door unlock when the ignition
key is removed from the ignition
switch (for smart key, when the
ENGINE START/STOP button is
turned to the OFF position)
If you want to activate or deactivate
some door lock/unlock feature, consult
an authorized KIA dealer.

I somehow have the feeling that the speed on the odometer is not the actual speed that we are traveling. It feels that our actual speed is not as fast as displayed on the meter. Anyone notice this too ?
Could it be due to the 17 inch rim ?

no. coz i use NPE got speed reminder panel on some part of the hiway. travel at 90KM/H and the screen shows "your speed is 90KM/H, please slow down"

but the car does make us feel it is slow and tend to push the pedal more..

All Volkswagen vehicles have the same lock mechanism like our Forte. Even their back passengers can open the locked door with a pull on the door handle! Tested the new Golf GTi & Passat CC.
I think almost all German cars have this feature.
The part of the tire where it states 215/45 H/V something like that.

I would have waited for 2.0 if this and the auto cruise are in the spec sheet sad.gif ... the RM12k extra is really worth it if it comes with the 2.0 engine, EPS, leather seat, auto cruise and sharkfin antenna ... congrats to those who waited months for 2.0, its really super value for money and best specs for car below RM120k thumbup.gif rclxms.gif

Today did my 1000km service at JnS SC (Sungai Pinang - Penang) and the following is the damage :

Oil Filter - RM16.20
Drain Plug Washer - RM2.00
Windscreen washer cleaner - RM10
ZIC QX Fully Sync Oil (Made in Korea) - RM188 (Recommended by the boss and for more info if you are wondering what brand is this http://www.skzic.com/eng/user/products/new_product_01.asp )
Total - RM216.20

The service provided by the SC is very good and highly recommended if you are from Penang. I reported that everytime when i close the back door (i am inside), i can hear a sound in the booth ... they checked and found the root cause, which is a vent on the left side of the booth to release the air pressure when someone close or slam the door, wow just found an additional feature not in the manual rclxms.gif

I met up with whiteforte and also Lucas from FB (his White Forte really nice drool.gif ) at the SC and really nice to meet you guys and really glad to see all 3 different colour forte parking in front of the SC. The service took 1.5 hrs but i was there for an additional hour chatting with the other two happt owners of forte hehehe biggrin.gif

We should organise a TT for Penang Forte Kaki brows.gif

Just came back from 1U ... was at the showcase for quite some time... FORTE do really catches ppls eyes

I was there looking here and there in and out to find out things to change/ improve:
1) Emblem
2) Skirting - for current owner please check underneath the chassis frame there's an uneven surface from the front wheel to back wheel
3) Add on isulation to the aircon pipings - as per modification by our Singaporean neighbor seems like there's improvement of aircon efficiency

On the other hand by the look of the aircon unit it seems can be service by local workshop ... so I think need nto to worry that much for the aircon as i believe local sifu can tackle it.

4te could you prpobably post the info at MyFORTE club in FB .... the info looks good , btw it looks like time to have TT for Penang and do recruit new member to join MyFORTE club wei .. we shall have alot of activities together !!

titarium, just posted in MyFORTE club FB under service experience biggrin.gif

I think maybe the Penang Kaki can have a TT early Feb, cos some 2.0 might have collected their cars then and we 1.6 owners can see, touch and test it drool.gif

Bro, as for item 3, the insulation must be perfectly done to avoid any condensation in the insulation. If it is not nicely done and there is condensation between the pipe and insulation, then it might be bad for the pipe in the long term. I think if the aircon is cold enough for you, better dont do anything and let the Sg owners test for 1-2yrs and if nothing happens to the pipe, then we can do it.

Initially, I was thinking of DIY using the good quality insulation tape for aircon pipe to ensure that no gap whatsoever between the pipe and insulation, but ater looking at the pipe, its very difficult to do it with the limited space and came across this discussion among the Sg members http://www.ceratoforte.sg/general-discussi...ighlight=aircon ... so decided to drop this mod and wait and see. But, so far i am happy with the aircon and 24c cold enough for me biggrin.gif
