This from KIA FB:
QUOTE Kia CareLine Cmd Dear Cadillac Wong, We are yet to receive any communication with regards to the price increase. Should the price increase, it is solely beyond our control. The increase is not limited to: 1. Changes in the Government or any relevant authorities approved net selling price 2. Variations in rates of exchange... See More 3. Increase in relevant rates of freight or insurance 4. Increase in custom/excise or other duties and taxes 5. Increase in registration and transfer fees imposed by the relevant authorities and the price might also increase due to reason of additional accessories. For whatever reason should the price increase, rest assured that Forte is “Value For Money”. 6 hours ago · Report Added on January 8, 2010, 4:47 pm QUOTE(1133 @ Jan 8 2010, 04:28 PM) Jz back from the showroom, the SA told me 2.0 is stop for booking.. they wanna jack up the price to 113K... as of now, based on info from my sa, there is NO date given from naza hq for the release of the 2l version...........but being a typical salesman, he remains optimistic about a jan release........
and being a typical very surprised customer, i don't believe him........good thing i don't need the car urgently, but with the new petrol subsidy thing, maybe the 308 turbo is a better option......... |

I think the only thing determining factor is the 2nd-hand value, which hopefully will improve as more ppl realize the Forte is actually a superb car. Not just some stupid overpriced ugly dugong/tin can, with 4 wheels slapped on, and called a car. Service centre = even H and T and N got problems, got staff with attitude, got lazy staff.... (dun believe? http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/upload/showthread.php?t=7549 http://ssquah.blogspot.com/2008/11/toyota-...rai-penang.html http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/660092) i didn't bother looking for H and N, you can do it yourself Spare parts = H parts considerably expensive, but does anyone complain? probly those ppl who are used to buying cheap imitation taiwan parts for their Wira A lot of complaints you hear are true, but based on older models of korean cars. As long as ppl keep bashing the newer generation of korean cars (rondo, forte, i30) without properly researching, test driving, visit the showroom non-stop This post has been edited by choobee: Jan 8 2010, 09:20 PM |

QUOTE Based on the soon-to-be-implemented petrol subsidy system, i think one can foresee even more potential 2.0 buyers change to 1.6 or even change to even smaller cc cars. yup then accident will be more coz no pickup to overtake at old road... full 5 person sitting in 660cc... |

QUOTE(phelix @ Jan 8 2010, 03:13 PM) wah~ RM168 is very expensive man.. i saw someone post in FB before.. RM100. Yes,his replacement car is D-segment. Forte 2.0 C-segment. in the mean time i also trying to source from Korea to get cheaper price.. let's see how it goes. wait wait~ ur "D-Segment" car got nice FC review le if i'm not mistaken... should be similar to forte FC. don't worry.. is a good D-segment car.. hehe In terms of engine both 2000cc, D-segment bigger size & heavier. Won't that affect the car performance? Does it mean Forte2.0 would be more powerful ? Previously I like to own a D-segment if I can afford it. Now, I'd prefer to have C-segment .the size is just nice, not too big not too small as mine is just small family. |

History
- Daily task reporting in LYN & AW daily following news on Forte for weeks. - Check out the Forte 1 day before Launching at the showroom - Booked the 2.0SX on the Launching Day paying RM2000 booking fees, SA saying car will be available in December. - Overjoyed that its finally here and I am the 2nd person booking in that dealer branch meant when they have the car with matching color.. I am the first / second to get it. - Followed by anxious and frustration for the next 1 month of wait, call, disappointment, uncertainty... and depress. ( I am the type of person that do not like to wait long for things that I am buying ) - Finally decided to cancel the booking on Dec 23rd after SA and Carelines telling no 2.0SX in coming 6 months time. - followed by mixed feeling after cancellation for the whole week especially numerous rumors / sources stating starts delivery in Jan 2010, car is at PK.. and also.. hopes as SA promised as long as I didn't collect my refund check, I can still get the car when they are available for delivery. 5 mins ago, my phone rang and for the first time, I saw my SA's name appear on the caller ID ... what came across my mind is the car is Here !!. And from the phone.. he is telling me that I can come and collect now. When I asked him collect car ? he said.. nope, your refundable booking fees cheque is ready. So.... Officially Bye Bye to Forte. I shall missed you especially when I bump onto one on the road, in the parking lot in future thinking.. I am that close to own one myself. The system will limit you from using your MyCard once an hour so that no one would stand at the petrol station to profit from pumping petrol for 2.0 and above cars This post has been edited by 4te: Jan 8 2010, 07:39 PM |
