I find it quite puzzling why some Forte owners here are hesitant to recommend their SA be it branch or dealer in Selangor/KL to me through PM. Can someone shed some light on this?

We are all here trying to promote a fantastic car and at the same time change Malaysian's negative mindset of Korean cars. Getting good service is crucial to ensure a positive experience and it is a well known fact there are a lot of bad SAs out there. If I could reduce the negative experience by recommending a good SA I would be all out to promote my SA and at the same time help him/her to get more genuine buyers. It makes me doubt whether some of you guys are serious about promoting this great car to all Malaysians.

What loss is there to the introducer or the SA? If the SA doesn't want potential buyers fair enough but shouldn't we have the opportunity to communicate and decide for ourselves? I've got no difficulty to get a recommendation for Toyota/ Honda SAs but when I ask here no one cares to share. I am very passionate about the car but finding a genuine SA is a serious concern for me as I would prefer to service the car at the same branch/dealer to ensure good service.

Nevertheless I thank you guys for sharing your findings/ experiences on Forte which have been invaluable in my better understanding and appreciation of the car. Apologies if I have offended any of you.

MangO

julz, care to share your good dealer to MangO?

I started to loosing it.. if the 2.0sx is not getting updated news soon. Brought my wife to test the Forte, 308 THP and 407 this afternoon with her testing all the 3 rides. ( only has the 1.6SX to test for Forte )

Ended up she does not like the Forte at all where she likes the responsiveness of the 308 and the comfort of the 407.. but I guess Naza will not cares as either of my wife's choice .. they still earn from us.

KIA claim 7.1L/100KM

safe to say that between 7.1/KM ~ 9L/100KM. some of us get 12L/100KM ~ 14L/100KM (perhaps 100% city driving + caught in jam + tons of traffic light)

it's more appropriate to choose btw Forte & Pug308. Surprise to hear that 407 is one of your option as 407 is D-segment totally in different category.
The price also is a big gap in-btw. hmm.gif

Added on December 19, 2009, 11:44 pmAs I can see there are a lot of Naza Citra OTR. wonder if Forte got such good response & flooding the road ...very soon.

I originally started to looked at 407 and Mazda 3.. before I went and check up with the Forte 2.0SX and being the 1st / 2nd who booked the 2.0SX at the local branch.. but due to the uncertainty / no news of the Forte 2.0SX.. we started to moves back to other cars that can deliver sooner.

Added on December 19, 2009, 11:49 pmI wonder what / how is the training / messages given by the Naza's HQ to their branches and dealers

Kia Malaysia / Naza are trying very hard to convince potential customer that there are All CKD only and no CBU where all the Branches / Dealers are trying very hard to convince potential customer that all car are CBU and no CKD ( for now until mid next year )... even 2 different SA in the same showroom are telling each different story about CKD, CBU where there are in the same team... rclxub.gif

Added on December 20, 2009, 12:05 amOne of the reason my wife does not like the Forte is the cabin noise .. we finally able to test out the 2nd Forte.. on certain road / speed, the road noise are very very loud. We tested all 3 cars on the same road.. and in terms of the NVH from Good to bad for the 3 rides

- 407
- 308
- Forte

They all having 17" wheels and at certain stage.. we have to raise our voice talking from front to back at only about 90km/h.

manufacturer's fuel consumption figures are in test conditions at a constant speed, usually 60kph..........which is NEVER the conditions one drives.......

there are so many variables in driving conditions, it is pointless to compare one driver/car with the next......or even one tankful and the next..........each driver will have his particular style and consumption figures........

i drive pretty much with consistent style, and traffic conditions on my route do not vary too widely.........and yet, monitoring my consumption over the last 3 years, i still get a variable of +/- 15% or so..........

to be honest, the whole car booking to delivery process was not quite smooth for quite a few of us here, no thanks to the fact that all the cars are imported but declared as CKD.

if naza had been able to inform buyers their expected date of delivery, ppl might not have high expectation, and would gladly wait for their car. unfortunately what a lot of SA's did was to over promise before and after launching, and ended up not able to meet these promises.

when that happens, it makes no difference whether the SA is good or bad. there are just too many things out of their control.

i'm still reading post where potential buyers are being promised that they can get a CBU, before this date, that date, etc, while KM already mentioned in FB that waiting period is 3-4 months.

not really.. but clock max 130km/h at 3.5k rpm. but did not maintain the same speed for long time during my journey (most of the time between 100km/h ~ 110km/h). cant help it coz using East coast hiway (straight road and very boring if drive slowly tongue.gif) keep rpm between 2k ~ 4k as per manual stated (varying speed)

i read that article saying need to rev it to the max...
if with dyno is even better... coz can maintain high rev to breaking in~
if on the road he says use lower gear to rev it to high RPM...
no 4k but 8k... LOL.. not for long.. try ur best to rev as high as u can~
if that is false info... will the engine blow?

hahaha.. i also don't dare la.. i also want others to try first rev to the max. mostly other people will drive below 110km/h only for break-in.. hehe.
at rpm 3.5k also i already begin to worry. i still stick to manual guide.. between 2 ~ 4k rpm. haha

i agree with you, brothers iluvena & yhlee.

here are my 2 1/2 sens:

well..if Naza's SA are half as good as those of Honda/Toyota, i think we wouldn't mind recommending ours to you, MangO.
i'd suggest, call a few branches & dealers, judge for yourself their service level and commitment to you.
whatever is being promised, have them write it in B&W.
from there, you call the shots.
plus, we wouldn't wanna be blamed should the SA we recommend doesn't keep to the end of their promise.

FYI, most of us FORTEzens here have faith in the car called Kia Forte.
that is whats bringing us together here.
we all had to endure with these jokers (SA) coz we had no choice but for the love of Forte.

btw, don't you even want to go test-drive the Forte and view the available colours?
haven't you been served by any SA's?
if the 1st SA gives you lousy service, look for another-lah.
try different branches, different dealers.
there's a whole list of it in naza-kia's website.

p/s: if you are looking for discounts, there aren't. maybe some freebies like Forte merchandise or tinting voucher, got-lah.

as for me.. usually i will rev b4 going to 1st service..
coz since the engine oil is going to replace.. so.. i think it is better to rev.. so that all the 'dirt' (duno what it calls) will then take out when changing the oil..
