Darn.... I was at Pavillion but they said Forte 2.0 no more on display. Want to see the interior difference over 1.6sx.

I find it quite puzzling why some Forte owners here are hesitant to recommend their SA be it branch or dealer in Selangor/KL to me through PM. Can someone shed some light on this?

We are all here trying to promote a fantastic car and at the same time change Malaysian's negative mindset of Korean cars. Getting good service is crucial to ensure a positive experience and it is a well known fact there are a lot of bad SAs out there. If I could reduce the negative experience by recommending a good SA I would be all out to promote my SA and at the same time help him/her to get more genuine buyers. It makes me doubt whether some of you guys are serious about promoting this great car to all Malaysians.

What loss is there to the introducer or the SA? If the SA doesn't want potential buyers fair enough but shouldn't we have the opportunity to communicate and decide for ourselves? I've got no difficulty to get a recommendation for Toyota/ Honda SAs but when I ask here no one cares to share. I am very passionate about the car but finding a genuine SA is a serious concern for me as I would prefer to service the car at the same branch/dealer to ensure good service.

Nevertheless I thank you guys for sharing your findings/ experiences on Forte which have been invaluable in my better understanding and appreciation of the car. Apologies if I have offended any of you.

Firstly thank you iluvena, yhlee12, julz76 and kennyphan for your kind replies. I took two day break from checking LYN Forte forums to clear my mind (normally check daily) so sorry for late response tongue.gif

I am looking for honest and reliable SAs. Not expecting any discounts because this is a new car but I have heard some good feedback regarding some SAs so I wanted to explore more on that area. Met 3 diff SAs previously but unless you know them a bit better you wonder whether they are over-promising, so some prior experience from fellow members really helps. You have your good view points and I respect that. Am professional thus don't hold the one referring responsible as its an arrangement between me and the SA. Its really not realistic to randomly visit each SA thus this forum would to help us mitigate this imperfect information (too much economics talk).

Ok moving on. I test drove the car twice and love the interior and great features wub.gif. Preferred colour would be Bright Silver. Now eying a 2.0sx but am sharing the anxiety fellow forummers who have booked the 2.0 so might gun for a 1.6sx. Also still wondering whether prices are going up next year...

Cheers!

price increment is unavoided in this case if u know supply and demand theories..
and.. how u define a reliable SA..? able to deliver ur car in very short period..
if yes, this is ur answer.. it's pretty hard to find 1 then..
unless u r lucky enuf to get 1 branch or dealer which has no pending order at all..

good luck...

Thanks. Heh. Just mean a genuine SA that does not over promise and is approachable.

There are some nice pictures of Forte cars in the pages before from some of the owners (fortelover and Suguran (sp?).

And yes I would have thought you would get a black forte instead of a white biggrin.gif

Now it is a good time to see whether the SC has the expertise to fix Kia Forte models. Wishing 4te all the best and hope it is just battery issue.

As to my understanding the Forte has no alarm system. Installing any aftermarket alarms will possibly void your warranty. You will need to check with SC whether the 3rd party alarms can be used.
