Get a sb laptop and throw in a ssd and you will have a really fast laptop biggrin.gif

I prefer asus, and i believe your already know the sb graphic performance, hopefully you can find one with highest lvl i5 or i7. nod.gif

Creative Gigaworks T20/T40 is one of ultimate speakers actually. Finding one now might be impossible sweat.gif

But harman/kardon SSIII is also phenomenal, more than sufficient I can say, seriously. When do you plan to buy?Go for it biggrin.gif

But SSD very expensive lo cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif
Haha... I'm not going to wait too long before buying la, so will probably be sticking to the earliest SB i7 nod.gif The only thing holding me back is the keyboard on the N series... why oh why din't they use chiclet keyboards doh.gif doh.gif Maybe will wait and see what Toshiba has to offer 1st.... not very optimistic though haha...

Yeah.... alot of reviews claim that the Gigaworks T20/40 are the best 2.0 speakers around for that price range nod.gif
Well, finding Series 1 in Malaysia is not a problem, but Series 1 speakers are faulty iirc... Now.... getting a Series 2 in Malaysia... that's the real problem... virtually impossible I would say... unless I go to Singapore and buy la doh.gif

As for harman/kardon SS3.... really tempting.... but it sure is expensive.... and I've no place to keep it safely since I stay in rented house doh.gif
Will probably buy when I have the space~ Thanks for your encouragements o!
Any other recommendations ar? hehe!

This year new ssd will come out, and the price will go down. smile.gif I start saving now to get a 28nm ssd,

About the laptop, I'm pretty sure new model will come out. Usually asus and acer will come 1st with new model.
Just pray you can get the laptop that suits you (I prefer chiclet than acer-type keyboard).
Asus new netbooks now come with chiclet, so I'm sure new model with 14 or 15"+optimus+chiclet will come out biggrin.gif

Hard to think any other model beside those 2 sweat.gif

Hmmm... I think its still going to take some time before the prices of SSD will drop until affordable values hmm.gif

Yeap, usually Asus/Acer/Toshiba are the ones who introduced new laptops.... but the problem now is Asus has already introduced their new lineups... and I'm not satisfied with them haha.... dunno need to wait until what time only the decide to refresh (not just the specs) again haha doh.gif
That's why I was wondering how come all Asus laptops come with chiclet keyboard but the designers of the N series tangan gatal and go change the buttons and made it worse LOL doh.gif

Its either Asus or Toshiba now.... laugh.gif

Nothing at the moment.... quite weird cause Toshiba was one of the 1st to introduce the Nehalem Core i processor last year hmm.gif Maybe they've learnt their lesson hehe laugh.gif
Anyway, no news so far, probably need to wait for a month or two before they introduce some new stuffs.... I hope the wait will be worth it..

Well, you don't have to worry on the hardware part.... its compatibility problems that you should worry about with Toshiba haha doh.gif

Some new Toshiba notebooks:

The favorite NB series has now added one more sibling to the family, NB520, which is basically the same netbook powered with an atom N550 plus harman/kardon speakers! Price is estimated to be around RM1350
Link: http://www.ncs.com.my/index.php?productID=2150

It seems the Portege T210 will have an upgrade in terms of processor as well, where the old U5400 will be replaced by the slightly better U5600. Price is estimated to be RM2099

Anyone knows the overseas model number equivalent of Toshiba L645-1112Xm & 1123XB? Can't seem to find any user reviews on these models tongue.gif Tried using the code numbers but doesn't yield any search results other than M'sian sellers' sites hehe.

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

Err... you'll probably be able to see the model numbers by visiting Toshiba's website and then change the "country" options smile.gif But I doubt theres reviews on this laptops haha.... not very popular I would say cry.gif
Perhaps you should go and try out display models? It'll give you a rough picture on how good/bad the laptops is nod.gif

If strictly Toshiba, then perhaps you can consider:
EDIT: Try this, L645-1159U, i5-460M+ATI 5470@RM1899** (new model)
Link: http://www.ncs.com.my/index.php?productID=2051
Satellite L645-1071U, i3-370M+Intel HD (FreeDOS)@RM1899 (Free 2nd year local limited warranty)
Satellite L645-1112x, i3-370M+ATI 5470@RM2299 (Free 2GB RAM and 2nd year local limited warranty)
The prices are based on the official Toshiba brochure, you'll probably be able to reduce the price after bargaining nod.gif and also do take note that the L645-1071U won't be able to handle gaming because of the lack of a dedicated GPU.

For your budget, I would say that its better to pick laptops from other brands. They offer better specs for a cheaper price nod.gif

Yes, the trend now is they put in low-class graphic card and sell it around rm2k bcz most people's budget is fall into this category.
Find a laptop with an ati5470+ core-i series and it's more than sufficient for a laptop worth rm2k thumbup.gif

Same as my qosmio where my left hand will nearly cover the speaker.
But imo, it's ok if the speaker quality is good.
Btw, it's really appealing to have such speaker on a netbook. blink.gif

i5 at such a cheap price shocking.gif Decent laptops are quite affordable now hmm.gif
Yeah.... I wouldn't worry much about the position of the speakers since I usually start playing the songs while I'm doing something else haha... so the speakers won't be obstructed laugh.gif
I wonder what's the pricing on the AMD powered NB500 series (if there is one)

If Acer 522 cost about usd330, then i expect other brands should be around the same price.
